UndefinedIsNotAFunction@programming.dev · 4 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Sorry it took you so long. To be fair though, I forgot about it entirely and I also have been using this name for a very long time.

Christopher@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Maybe I did know, but nobody cared enough to call attention to it, so I forgot; and then I forgot that I forgot. MIB-style.

UndefinedIsNotAFunction@programming.dev · 3 pts · 3y

It's ok, Stopher. It's ok.

radioactiveradio@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 3y

Oh you can say it alright, it means black. It's quite a common word too, and it's given rise not only to toponyms and family names, but even designated origin products and some cultural references.

Like the Black forest (Schwarzwalder), Black forest ham and blackface (Gesichtsschwärzung).

secondaccountlemmy@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Wait so today i learned that Schwarz is black. So arnold's name is Schwarz And Negger.

TheyCallMeHacked@discuss.tchncs.de · 22 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Actually, Schwarzenegger literally means "from Schwarzenegg", which is an Austrian village. Schwarzenegg can be translated to "black corner" ("schwarz" = black; "Egg" = corner, compare High German "Eck")

helixdaunting@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 3y
