Jokes on you these birds fly backward. Elon said it would be more efficient that way.

Tenkard@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 1y

When you fly the fuel gets depleted, so if you fly backward the fuel gets refilled instead

Skill issue

captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works · 37 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Ya fucked it. "Skil issue" was right there.

nuke@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 1y

Simply amazing 👏

anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 1y

that also makes the blade facing the right way, assuming the cut with the lower half.

Squibbles@lemmy.ca · 12 pts · 1y

Sacrifices had to be made in the name of aerodynamic efficiency

KickMeElmo@sopuli.xyz · 8 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Wouldn't it be easier to cut a plane underneath than above?

milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Also you can do strafing runs on aircraft carriers.

KickMeElmo@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 1y

Well, it started out as one aircraft carrier. Not by the time you're done though!

gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 1y

No you see it’s a bomber so it’s akshually the correct orientation for ground attack runs

seathru@lemmy.sdf.org · 8 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Sticking a wood blade on backwards is actually a semi-valid way of cutting sheet metal.

captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1y

I have also cut 8020 aluminum extrusion with just an ordinary miter saw.

DogWater@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y

It's cuz they are cutting metal with the wood blade.

We can't afford the metal blade.

sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1y

That's the price of freedom.

nooneescapesthelaw@mander.xyz · 3 pts · 1y

Forward swept wings so it can maneuver faster, you're just looking at it the wrong way

The game “Air Brawl” on Steam is a dogfighting game with airplanes with different weapons. One of them has a big hammer you use to wack other airplane.

Makita blade, so Japanese steel folded over a thousand times. Edit: never mind, it says Made in China.

steal_your_face@lemmy.ml · 4 pts · 1y

Japanese innovating in melee aircraft again

DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 2 pts · 1y

Like all the best modern katanas!

Though now I'm wondering if there were any Japanese style sword smiths on the mainland.

SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 1y

If it gets hit by a block of wood that has a few nails in it, it will jam and fall out of the sky.

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 11 pts · 1y (1 reply)

This would be fun as hell in a video game. High-speed aerial knife fights. Hell yeah!

Louisoix@lemm.ee · 7 pts · 1y

I'd pick this Jack of all trades

LovableSidekick@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1y

Not breaking news, slicing news.

ooterness@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1y

Giant sawblades are also helpful whenever your stealth bomber is boarded by ninjas.

HKPiax@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y

Aerodinamically feasable, too credible. Downvote

ThrowawayPermanente@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Screamers (1995)

Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

A nice little movie that is starting to become a possibility.

Donkter@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

That would be a funny videogame. Air combat but it has to all be melee combat.

captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 1y

A baseball bat sticking out of a P-51, an F-16 with a morning star, a foot with a kicking boot sticking out of an A-10...yeah I'll make that. sounds delightfully stupid.

Korhaka@sopuli.xyz · 5 pts · 1y

Or fly upside down and you can provide VCAS.

tal@lemmy.today · 5 pts · 1y (2 replies)
  • I thought I read somewhere that vertical tails aren't very good from a stealth design standpoint. I would imagine that something similar would apply to gargantuan circular saws.

  • Landing that thing has got to be a bitch.

  • I have some supply-chain security questions regarding the "Made in China" label on the blade.

Iheartcheese@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 1y (1 reply)

No need for stealth when you're cutting everything in half

qaz@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

Just cut through the radar waves smh

Hugin@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

It looks like 40K is leaking again.

Sam_Bass@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

No finger stop preinstalled

trslim@pawb.social · 1 pts · 1y

What if the other plane has flex tape?
