I don't think that will work, but hopefully they raise income taxes so I at least take home a bit more cash each month.

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 42 pts · 1y (3 replies)

I'm not so sure that's going far enough. I'd be on board if they raised property and sales taxes so I could afford a bigger house and more groceries. Still, my employer would probably just raise my wages, effectively putting me all the way back where I started.

MeatPilot@lemmy.world · 34 pts · 1y

I'd hope and pray my employer lowers my salary so much I can be in a lower tax bracket. Than I can go on welfare which pays for all my necessities and is a solid flawless system I can live off of for the rest of my life.

Were you homeschooled by a pigeon?

This is just painful.

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 64 pts · 1y (6 replies)

At least my all-American Dodge Ram truck will be cheaper, because it's definitely not made from parts manufactured in Mexico by a European corporation.

jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works · 33 pts · 1y (5 replies)

Stelantis? I thought that was a lost city under the ocean.

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 1y (4 replies)

No, I think you might be confusing it with Atlanta.

FrederikNJS@lemm.ee · 10 pts · 1y (3 replies)

No, I thing you might be confusing it with Tampa.

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Maybe you're thinking of a person or thing that packs down tightly by a succession of blows or taps?

Test_Tickles@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Maybe you are thinking of when someone is always in a bad mood.

Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y

Are you sure you haven't mixed it up with the motto of the US Marines?

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 1y

Point out on the pigeon where it is painful.

don@lemm.ee · 60 pts · 1y

No, they were most certainly not homeschooled by a pigeon. Pigeons have brains and can learn things. They were homeschooled by a bag of wet bags.

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 34 pts · 1y (1 reply)

snort

That was genuinely funny.

At least I'm hearing way less 4D chess / "he has a reason" nowadays or are my filters working better?

"I hope Nordic people can swim"...

Graham, we used to have an empire that was complete naval. Wtf you thought?

Droechai@lemm.ee · 16 pts · 1y (2 replies)

When I went to core school (mandatory for ages 6 through 15) swimming was a required subject. We swam in one of many tax funded swimming halls in the area.

Edit: I'm from Sweden, same as Greta although a fair bit older

Valmond@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yeah same, there are like 0% of swedes that can't swim if it's physically possible.

I was actually a bit shocked when I moved more south in Europe that there were people who couldn't swim (or ride a bicycle).

Im_old@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1y

I can swim like a bicycle 😅

Klear@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y

I know exactly the context for this comment but at least as far as I can see it's under this post.

Weird. Lemmy bug maybe?

They aren't wrong. Tariffs could help bring the upcoming Samsung A17 to $1000-1200.

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 1y

Ah yes, the upcoming "Samsung Phone". I hear it's going to be really game-changing!

Apologies for the very personal question, but were you homeschooled by a pigeon?

linchiao@lemm.ee · 39 pts · 1y (2 replies)

by two, don't forget the partner

GreenMartian@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 36 pts · 1y

Huh. I actually had to look this up, and you're right; they are largely monogamous and share parenting responsibilities.

My sincerest apologies. Say hi to them when you get home.

TachyonTele@lemm.ee · 11 pts · 1y
