I think we are seeing the project in it's early stages and the author has been experimenting with different things and finding their voice and style; there's bound to be inconsistencies. They are clearly talented and are helping grow the community with original content so, major props to them! This comic even inspired me to give it a try and make my own... (Which I posted in other community 'cause it's just basically fan art, but still :P)
There was this one time I was looking for the matches, and they were in my hand. What I can't remember is if I had the matches in my hand the whole time, or if I found them, grabbed them and kept on looking for them.
