The worst part about getting older is everyone cleaning up their shit.

I don't drink coffee, too much caffeine, I don't drink wine or liquor, its bad for you, blah blah.

Everyone sucks now, just because y'all got fucked up 6 days a week for years means I have to drink by myself now? Suck a asshole.

That's rough...

How do you handle it, though? I find the sleep tax makes it not worth pursuing now in I'm my 40s

Day drinking

devfuuu@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

The only correct answer.

I don't have but one or two. I'd rather a double of nice whiskey to sip on and chat instead of swilling a bunch of cheapshit beer. I'm not looking to get trashed, as noted the tax is heavy on that one.

If you have Lemmy genes, good for you. For most the alcohol becomes too heavy with age.

Having kids is stupid. The world doesn't need more people. Stop it.

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Counter-Argument: Have enough kids and you can create an army that takes over the world to shape it as you please. 😌

Hit me right in the feels, but with video games instead of alcohol lol

I lost many a "friend" when I stopped drinking alcohol.

BurntWits@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 1y

I’m in the opposite situation. All my friends are either single or in casual relationships, meanwhile I’m married with a kid coming very soon and two cats.

At the same rate, all my friends are either working in their field or doing their masters/post-grad studies, meanwhile I’m working a shitty job at low pay with no idea where to go career-wise so in that respect I feel behind in the whole maturity/life path thing. So I guess it balances out.

I feel pretty sure Kirk would still come out for a drink if he called.
