It’s actually flattening out rather alarmingly

interdimensionalmeme@lemmy.ml · 21 pts · 351d (1 reply)

Interestingly, the other period of "flattening" was 1840-1860, just before the civil fun. I see this flattening out as the trend of severe conservatism I wonder if there was a particularly old generational cohort at the time, pushing conservatism at the time or was it wealthy interests clawing to power ?

I mean, we know this bucking conservatism's goal was to act as a bullwark for slavery until the blockage popped. And then we have the "gilded age" which is somehow even worse. I imagine as the aristocratic parasite classes shattered partly from war partly from being denied the blood of their slaves to feed their financial vampirism, it appears that a few survivors found themselves in a vacuum, able to digest the remaining wreckages of their peers and grow cancerously on industry, especially rail, oil and mining trusts.

I hope once we break the back of this vampiric wave, we continue taking our antibiotics and leave no billionaires behind, alive, don't stop the treatment until the financial cancer is BEYOND remission

That's about the same time as the Know-Nothing party was pushing nativism and anti-immigrant sentiment.

I don't like the plateau at the end

chuckleslord@lemmy.world · 51 pts · 351d (3 replies)

Clinton, Bush, and Trump are all the same age. Horrifying statistic

meekah@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 351d (1 reply)

Isn't Biden almost the same age too?

jballs@sh.itjust.works · 29 pts · 351d

Yeah, Republicans made a big deal out of how old Biden was, but failed to mention that no matter what, whoever won the election would be the oldest president ever elected.

Obama combo breaker.

captainlezbian@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 350d

It's only my entire life barring Obama

Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk · 74 pts · 351d (1 reply)

If I'm reading this right, by the time Trump is running for his 16th term he won't have been born yet.

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 351d

That’s when he goes back in time and gets that sports betting book.

I present to you Trump era science! Don’t let those facts stand in the way of the truth.

You can’t handle the TRUTH!

For most of us, no truer words have ever been spoken.

diegantobass@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 351d

That's a major discovery of political sciences through the use of advanced data visualization. I'd aim straight for the American Journal of Political Science. THAT'S SCIENCE RIGHT THERE GENTLEDUDES!

SoloCritical@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 350d (1 reply)

And where is President Tylenol on this list?

titanicx@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 350d

He's there, listed twice

dragnucs@lemmy.ml · 7 pts · 351d (15 replies)

Did they have a life span of 300 years?

arandomthought@sh.itjust.works · 62 pts · 351d (4 replies)

I believe the joke is that they just calculated "how old would they be now?". Ignoring death and all that...

LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 351d (3 replies)

I agree but it's still hard to read, Trump is older than Bush and Clinton. We got to 2016+ and said let's get guys older than weve had since 91

DrBob@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 351d (2 replies)

Whoosh

LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 351d (1 reply)

What's the whoosh?

DrBob@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 350d

The fact that Trump was older when elected is part of the joke.

SnokenKeekaGuard@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 351d

No ofc not, dont be ridiculous.

Thats why Washington is at around 290, the lifespan was 295.

They did. It said so in the Bible.

KeenFlame@feddit.nu · 1 pts · 351d

Tragic they all died at the same time too, which is now

ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org · 1 pts · 349d

I want to see a Presidents vs States chart. It's 47 vs 50 now, we better act quickly with DC and Puerto Rico. The last time we got this close, there was a civil war.
