It's a little more subtle even than that. It is "OF COURSE we need to post unapologetic cheerleaders for (side A), because literally everything else in the world is cheerleaders for (side B)!"

The second part isn't even usually true, but even if it were, the logic doesn't make any sense. The solution to "not enough truth" is not "more of the right type of lies, to counterbalance."

I've heard a lot of things, but nothing that I have verified or really needs repeating. But I think the fact that the UniversalMonk who has been banned from most of the larger servers is welcome there. It would definitely put a lot of people off.

If you don't know who that is, color yourself lucky. Roughly a year and a half ago on-world. They were creating something like a community a day at one point. It was tens or hundreds of communities they were soul moderator of. With some weird posting. Not sure whether it was mental illness and too much time or large language models. Combative and dogmatic behavior in the section of many posts outside their own communities. Which if I remember correctly, got them banned permanently from many of them, and ultimately from the instance itself. To which they created new Alts for a while. So much so it was and still is a bit of a running joke to call any new random behaving oddly universalmonk for many people.

They're outright trolling. If monk was trolling and not just obsessive and uninformed then they'd be a master troll compared to antiyank. Who's just a juvenile, tanky, edge lord. Only after saying those words just now, do I realize how redundant they are.

Nah. UniversalMonk tends to be very fake friendly and passive agressive, Yankee Boy prefers being outright hostile and aggressive towards whoever they deem a Zionist, which is everybody. Monk is irritating to deal with, but they don't make thousands of accounts in a one-man war on a tiny social media platform because unlike lil ol' Yanks, Monk has most of their marbles intact.

Don’t confuse ML’ers with liberals, progressives or even leftists - they are none of those things.

There is a reason they are derisively referred to as ‘Tankies’; they’re the sort of people who would cheer on the tanks during the Tianamin Square massacre.

Their entire world-view starts and ends at US/The West = Bad, China/Russia = Good. Everything else beyond that point is largely pageantry. While they do hold some views that overlap with leftist principles (pro-Palestine, pro-worker etc.); they overlap with far-right (pro-Fascist) principles that will over-write others.

Lol Dems aren't on the "same team", its more like begrudging temporary allies in a WW2 scenario. Like how the Tankies temporary sided with the Liberals against fascists. Same here, but this time the "allies" are the progressives and the "centrist" dems, against the fascists/tankies, these centrist/corporate dems aren't really our friend lmao. Primary the fuck out of them, but vote for the Dems in the general.
