RIP Jane Goodall ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆง

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 350d (1 reply)

Will be much missed. One of the world's greatest people imo.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 350d

I agree.

Salvo@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 350d (1 reply)

I received a Jane Goodall diorama as a Lego Gift-With-Purchase.

I recently donated it (including the Jane Goodall minifig) to a Primary School Science teacher for her classroom.

I hope none of the little perishers steal the minifig!

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

it's gone

Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 350d

If you (or anyone else) havenโ€™t read it, In the Shadow of Man is a fantastic book

I'm glad it's not just my family. Whenever I said to friends spag bog, they would be like do you mean spag bol?

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 349d

LOL, what is the point of slang if it isn't rude

Alrighty. 9am interview with a lady in the US then a 2nd one later in the afternoon.

Wrote my first new song tonight in about 6 months and practiced my new open mic songs as well.

Goodnight all โค๏ธ

goodnight

Catfish@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 349d (10 replies)

Be honest, how many of your dinner foods are just an excuse for melted cheese?

tone212_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 349d

Tonight's meal calls for a generous helping of melted cheese, sometimes I construct what I eat around it including cheese.

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 349d (2 replies)

I have to be honest here. None. Not really. I'd rather have cheese in it's unmelted state. And I go through phases where I can't stand any cheese, and other times I can't get enough of it. Phases can last from a few days to a few months. Currently going through an anti-cheese phase. This will change, I just don't know when. And then I'll consume cheese in any form that presents itself. But I prefer non-melted.

Catfish@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 349d (1 reply)

I find cheese majestic just is or total goo. Nothing worse than a halfway sweaty mess.

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 349d

Second this.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 349d

If it were possible for me, it would be all of them. But instead of โ€˜excuseโ€™ I would say โ€˜celebrationโ€™.

I would have an air fryer and a fondue pot

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 349d

I definitely think what vegetables can I melt cheese on to get my fix so I'm gonna say atleast a 1/4. I'm more of a butter whore though.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 349d (2 replies)

none ๐Ÿ˜”

I used love to lasagna and pizza and fondue and cheesy nachos and cheesy paninis

Ah back at FILs for the next couple of days, and then back to Melbourne Sunday night.

Niece was very unhappy we were leaving her place, but we'll see them again before we go home.

Looking forward to picking Mickey up on Monday morning. Then I have an interview at 10-10:30am, and then my job provider appointment at 11:30am. I'm going to be wrecked, but happy ๐Ÿ’œ

I used a pink pre-dyed from Spotlight and added all the off chips from the Lego I did last week to blur but not swirl. So it's a dyed white base with dark added. Hope that make sense!

Anyone got advice for dealing with oxalis at the base of young lily pily hedge? People have suggested using a paint brush with poison to just contact the oxalis and other plants should be fine?

I'm listening to Spare, the book by Harry whatsisname

he sounds like someone who has joined a cult, who has been told their family is awful and don't love him, who has had his past rewritten to make it nothing but bad up til the moment he met his saviour and he has learned helplessness.

he was also a bit of dick growing up

it's a good warning, don't marry narcissists like meghan

i would really like to know how he thought about himself and his life before he met her

the book sucks except as an example of what not to do, I can only observe the events described , I find it hard to care or get involved

Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 349d (1 reply)

It honestly seems like the happiest he has ever been was in the army.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 349d

I think so too.

There were set rules, no one in his unit was out to get him, he learnt skills, he was treated as his own person, he had a purpose bigger than himself.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 349d

I've never read it but this has always been my thought. Harry has been told his whole life he must wear red socks on Wednesdays. Meghan tells him he's an adult now and he can choose whatever coloured socks he wants. Harry thinks about it and agrees but up until that point every part of his life has been micromanaged by people who "know better" than him.

I'd run away too.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 349d

I havenโ€™t read it. But I agree Megan seems like a narcissist. Of course marrying into the royal family means there will be many occasions where protocol must be followed. Thatโ€™s the job. To pretend she didnโ€™t know and was shocked is not believable to me. Harry was in love, and had his own long brewing grievances, so made the choice to leave. And thatโ€™s fine for him, if thatโ€™s what he needed to do. But I feel sorry for the kids, who are growing up with zero contact with their heritage. Parents have thrown a hissy fit, and taken away their kids down with them. I wonder how they will feel about it as adults.

My arms are a bit sore today after all the lugging around of mulch I've been doing. I have managed to get all the tape off the rest of the cardboard boxes so I'm ready to put the next lot of mulch down as soon as I have aquired it. I've also put together the mini-greenhouse I'll be using to start some seedlings in. I put a heavy container of water on the bottom shelf and it hasn't blown away yet, so I think that's a good sign.

I got a small grocery order delivered this morning, I think there were more items substituted than not, but fortunately they are all good substitutions. Now that I have more eggs I'm going to do a batch of breakfast muffins - I even bought some egg rings so I can keep the eggs the right size/shape.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

Commbank down while trying to pay for groceries. Yay.

Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d (5 replies)
