Lengthy rant about how these are mostly early modern and not medieval

Number 5 all the way

LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 303d (2 replies)

Good spot! Which ones are actually medieval? And can you tell the country?

Rooty@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 303d (1 reply)

1 and 8 definitely, 2 and 3 maybeee ( late medieval), as for country of origin most weird helmets I've seen were German.

I’m a three. I’ve always been a three.

foofiepie@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 303d (1 reply)

3, but I do wonder which of these would be most effective, eg visibility vs protection.

Samsy@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 303d

Since near all of them aren't damaged, they are just worn for presentation not for war. Only number 8 looks like it got damage on the field, and not enough destroyed to kill it's user. I would go with this one.

  1. Not able to get in for a closer look, so just squinting from afar trying to understand what the fuck it is I'm seeing.
