You do lighting for Linkin Park, and you got a sweet packet with Linkin Park written on it in front of you, and are posting an image of same with Linkin Park in the middle of the image. You still misspell the name.

Well, those things are essentially pure sugar, so they are still edible.

Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 305d

Chester wasn't though

CannedYeet@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 304d

Either that or you'll be making Linkin Logs

aeronmelon@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 305d (1 reply)

That’s a quitter’s attitude.

Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 305d

I don’t know if this comment is about stale candy or suicide.

StarvingMartist@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 304d (1 reply)

Where did you see that? I honestly can't see it in the image

Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone · 11 pts · 303d

That's the day Chester took a leave of absence from the band

SuspiciousCatThing@pawb.social · 3 pts · 304d

:(

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 304d

They just get kind of stale and extra chewy. Still good probably.

aviationeast@lemmy.world · 29 pts · 305d

Its start with one thing, I don't know why I'm giving you gummies so you don't cry.

Mmmm Lincoln.

bert_macklin_fbi@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 305d (2 replies)

I was equally puzzled. The spelling is on the packaging in the picture they uploaded.

toothpaste_sandwich@thebrainbin.org · 7 pts · 305d (1 reply)

Autocorrect, probably?

cerebralhawks@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 305d

That’s what I’m thinking. Lincoln Park is a real place — I think it’s in Chicago? And it predates the band. The band is most likely named after it. So they changed the spelling. If you have an iPhone, the autocorrect is brutal. I’m not saying Android is better, but it doesn’t autocorrect iPhone to “advertise.” iPhone does that to Android. Have to tap it out like a caveman. (I use both. I’m good with both. I talk shit about both.)

They should be worms you insert into your skin.

Zomg@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 304d

Yeah, so they can crawl in my skin

Not enough people go camping anymore, so the picnic basket market is no longer viable and they were forced to diversify.

The bear (Goldbär = gold bear) is the mascot from the Brand (HARIBO = Hans Riegel Bonn), a German sweets company. They came up with the Goldbär because of the then competitor "Gummibären" (gummy bears). The bear is on most types of gummies the brand offers link to online shop if interested sometimes together with the liquorice-boy.

I worked a show as some sort of stage hand for them one time. It was my first day, absolutely no direction, but it was so much fun

Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 305d (3 replies)

But why?

Ste41th@lemmy.ml · 25 pts · 305d

Because they worked so hard and got so far, so in the end it really did matter

simplejack@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 305d

I don’t know why.

Scientology reasons

Isn't that a suburb in Chicago?

GaMEChld@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 305d

I mean, it's on the picture, how do you get the spelling wrong on the title?

Do you work at Haribo? Do you get free gummies???

gigachad@piefed.social · -7 pts · 305d (27 replies)

It's crazy to me Haribo is still making their gums from animal bones. Their competition in Germany (Katjes) is winning so much market from them.

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 304d (9 replies)

What do you mean still? That’s where gelatin comes from…

gigachad@piefed.social · 0 pts · 304d (6 replies)

Exactly and it can easily be replaced

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 304d (5 replies)

If it could be easily replaced then capitalism would have already replaced it…

Blackmist@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 303d (1 reply)

I've a feeling gelatin is just cheaper because it's a byproduct of the meat industry. We're not killing animals just for the jelly, so they either put it in sweets or it goes in the bin.

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 303d

This is 100% the case and the point I was making.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 304d (2 replies)

Easily is not the same thing as profitable.

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 304d (1 reply)

In this case it is. The alternative is that you and the other commenter actually think that everybody should have to pay more because you believe that gummies shouldn’t be made from gelatin.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 0 pts · 303d

I'm not talking about what I believe, I'm talking about how capitalism actually works.

dickalan@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 304d (1 reply)

I think it's just best if you ignore their vegan bullshit

gigachad@piefed.social · 7 pts · 304d

Where does the hate come from? I never told you, you need to live vegan. All I am saying is producing a product without animals where it is possible is a good thing.

Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 304d (6 replies)

Not everybody needs vegan gummy bears?

And haribo has halal offerings.

gigachad@piefed.social · 0 pts · 304d (5 replies)

If you can make a product with our without animals and it tastes the same, is it a bad thing to prefer the vegan option? I don't tell anybody what to eat, if you like to eat meat I am fine with that.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 304d

I usually get kosher/halal Haribo when I see them.

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 303d (2 replies)

Does it taste the same? I've tried Katjes and I'm pretty sure it tastes different. I will of course agree with you that for two equivalent tasting products, it's better to prefer the vegan option even as a meat eater.

gigachad@piefed.social · 1 pts · 303d (1 reply)

Tbh, as a vegetarian I haven't eaten Haribo a lot in the last 10 years, rarely one of those small gift gold bear packages. I think they taste kind of boring, on the other hand they wake up childhood memories. The selection of Katjes is super large in Germany with a lot of variation. I like them a lot and don't find them particularly better or worse than Haribo. If you find them I would say try them out!

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 296d

Oh they only have like one or two flavours here in Estonia. If they even still sell 'em. It's sad.

Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 304d

You do you. And that's totally okay.
As for me: I couldnt care less as long as it tastes good.

But I would also accept synthetic gelatine based gummy bears as well.

philpo@feddit.org · 2 pts · 304d (2 replies)

They literally have a line of vegan ones. .....and Katjes is actually is not doing that well, btw.

AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 304d

Hah, they make a lot from animal skin as well.

ohulancutash@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 305d

They make the other sort too.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 304d (1 reply)

They sell kosher Haribos in areas near me with more Jewish people.

They're pretty good too.

StarvingMartist@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 302d

Honestly it was rough to get through them but that's just cuz I got caps in my back teeth. I was able to do with my canines though

NachBarcelona@piefed.social · 1 pts · 192d (1 reply)

Narrator: They didn't win so much market.

gigachad@piefed.social · 1 pts · 192d

Source: I made it the fuck up

Blackmist@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 303d

I don't really like Haribo gummies anyway. Not a patch on Wine Gums or Fruit Pastilles.

I was going to recommend Percy Pigs, but it turns out they're also made by Katjes.
