If the signs are certain kinds of plastic the permanent marker can sometimes embed ink the plastic. If you soak a piece of the sign in isopropyl and it swells then you likely have something the ink will soak into.
whenever i hear/see the word tuppence i think of Thank Goodness You're Here. which is not very often cause it happened once since I played the game and it was just now. but still.

Blue and white gaffer tape would be even quicker
Empricorn@feddit.nl · 8 pts · 295d
Exactly what a gaffer would suggest.

Isn’t that quite easy to remove, unlike permanent marker?

Or a dry erase marker if that's a billboard. Color over, erase.

Some markers are more permanent than others I guess (I came across some that weren’t really bothered by isopropyl or solvent).
For speed I’d suggest a stencil and some nasty spray paint (the type that isn’t easily removed).

They clearly used white as well.

White sharpies are too expensive. I'm out

The real trick is to just get a roll of white tape for that part

Reminds me of when kids would steal letters off of the signage board in highschool for presidents day so that it read “Penis Day - No School”

What did that even say originally? First line is "Trump" of course, but what's the second and third line supposed to be?

Two pence, or tuppence, is 2 pennies, so a pence must be one penny. A Trumpence is valueless, however.
