ANYONE can Take a Screenshot and make SOMEONE Look bad! You have TDS! Trump is the YOUNGEST HEALTHIEST 79 YEAR OLD FAST FOOD ADDICTED MAN WE"VE EVER ELECTED TO OFFICE!

MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 314d (16 replies)

You may want to add "/s" at the end of your comments…

fox2263@lemmy.world · 59 pts · 314d (10 replies)

They don’t need to.

Fermion@mander.xyz · 40 pts · 314d (1 reply)

I've done a 180 on /s tags. I used to think they were cringe. Now I just get exhausted by Poe's law with so many outlandish opinions online. Even the Onion fails to be absurdist enough to be obvious satire these days.

otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 8 pts · 314d

Not really The Onion's fault, though..

DagwoodIII@piefed.social · -8 pts · 314d (7 replies)

Yes, they do.

fox2263@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 314d

The entire account is satirical. I enjoy seeing their posts

blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -13 pts · 314d (5 replies)

/s is only for morons who can't understand satire, sarcasm or irony

snooggums@piefed.world · 14 pts · 314d (1 reply)

/s is for people who don't know that the person is being satirical or sarcastic because the lack the context of intent. For a lot of users the community, user's instance, or other context provides that context in a fairly reliable manner, but it isn't perfect.

I don't bother with it, but it makes sense conceptually as a way to confirm intent.

/s

otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 314d

You keep using that tag. I'm not sure it means what you think it means. 😅

Scubus@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 314d

You forgot /s

Bamboodpanda@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 314d (1 reply)

You make an excellent point. Anyone requiring “/s” to recognize sarcasm must indeed be an idiot. After all, tone, intent, and context are inherent in written text. When prose is clear and precise, misinterpretation simply doesn’t occur. The reader’s failure to perceive subtext is a personal shortcoming, not a limitation of the medium. It’s comforting to know that digital communication, unlike speech, conveys irony with perfect fidelity. Truly, misunderstanding is only for morons.

OrteilGenou@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 313d

Ah gee, now I can't tell whether your obvious sarcasm is obvious or not.

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works · 18 pts · 314d (1 reply)

There is 100% no need for this here. Even his most deranged fans know this man is deteriorating at this point.

eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 314d

Yeah the succession wars have already started on the right, he's like Yuri Andropov at this point.

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 314d

You gotta appreciate the performance, man. You can’t do Shakespeare and then address the audience with “I was just acting, don’t worry!”

No but srs, check their comment history, you’ll grok it no prob.

OrteilGenou@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 313d

That /s shit needs to go

jj4211@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 313d

I mean the all caps part is technically the truth... He's the only one that meets those criteria so he's both the healthiest and unhealthiest person to meet them.

acockworkorange@mander.xyz · 32 pts · 314d (16 replies)

I'm out of the loop, what's happening recently?

ThePantser@sh.itjust.works · 51 pts · 314d (1 reply)

Old man deteriorating before our eyes "live"

acockworkorange@mander.xyz · 34 pts · 314d

Keep your secrets

DagwoodIII@piefed.social · 32 pts · 314d (6 replies)

He's looking more and more out of touch.

Someone collapsed during an event in the Oval Office and he just stood there, looking at the cameras.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/guest-collapses-trump-oval-office-weight-loss-drug/story?id=127271387

Scubus@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 314d (1 reply)

Im about as anti trump as it gets, but that is misleading. Watch the video. Trump gets up to help almost immediately, and then decided there was already enough people crowding the guy. Not only that, but immedietely after Trump decided against helping because it was at best unneccassary and at worst an active detriment(imagine donald j trump trying to help you in a medical emergency, absolutely terrifying), the white house medical staff specifically told trump to stay back. There is soooo much bullshit that trump has done to legitamately endanger lives, but this isnt one of them. In fact I would say this is the one time he made the right call that I have ever seen

Ninja edit: although strictly speaking, what you said was 100% factually accurate, i dont want to give the implication i was calling you a liar

jj4211@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 313d

Also it looked like he might have tried walking toward it and secret service guy held up a hand to stop him. So I think it was the agent who recognized that the situation was handled without Trump, and Trump was just kind of lost after that,

troglodytis@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 314d (3 replies)

Same press event

DagwoodIII@piefed.social · 7 pts · 314d (2 replies)

I'll be honest. I try not to look directly at him, or listen to him speak.

I leave that to those with stronger stomachs.

troglodytis@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 314d (1 reply)

Not a bad way to live.

Peace and love are fantastic forms of resistance.

DagwoodIII@piefed.social · 2 pts · 314d

How exactly does watching his every move help the resistance?

if_only@sh.itjust.works · 20 pts · 314d (5 replies)

Trump fell asleep during a press conference yesterday

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 314d (3 replies)

Look, I took the liberty of examining that president when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting at its desk in the first place was that it had been nailed there.

El_Scapacabra@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 314d (1 reply)

Well, of course it was nailed there. Otherwise, it would’ve muscled up to the door and VOOM!

Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 313d

Look matey, this President wouldn't voom if I put 6000 volts through it.

krooklochurm@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 314d

The president was pining for the fjords.

acockworkorange@mander.xyz · 2 pts · 314d

Thank you, but couldn't find that specific stance anywhere there was coverage of him sleeping.

Jackusflackus@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 314d

This is his daily appearance. He’s such a dumbass

DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 27 pts · 314d (6 replies)

Everyone will become disabled at some point in their life. If you're lucky it's at the very end but it is as certain as death itself.

Edit:

Dear dummies saying "bUt in SudDeN aCCiDeNtS" learn about Planck time and shut your dumb faces no one cares about your technically incorrect yet still obnoxiously irrevelant to the larger point nitpicks

SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 8 pts · 313d

As dumb as bigotry is, ableism is truly one of the dumbest. Becoming disabled is something that everyone has a high likelihood of eventually becoming, in one form or another

captainlezbian@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 314d (2 replies)

Not necessarily, some people die young and fast

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 314d (1 reply)

Live fast, die young, and leave behind a pretty corpse, that's what I always say.

Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 313d

Live fast die young stay pretty.

aesthelete@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 314d

Nah some people are murdered or die sudden deaths, but I get the sentiment.

altphoto@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 314d

Tell that to the UPS pilots and crew member who pased away fighting their plane to the last second.

There’s a video of someone collapsing behind him from yesterday with dr oz and he seemed to be wearing the same suit with his tie off to the side like that, I just want to see the clip that screen cap is from.

Bonus@fedia.io · 1 pts · 314d

Ah, yeah, he was not very with it that day

Pinnacle of health /s

Spacehooks@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 313d
