For my last missing days:
I would like one pizza and coffee, one roasted pork and veges.
Cheers ๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป,
And I've just finished day three with my mum who hasn't been to melb in 30 years. We've packed in: South Melbourne brunch and market, south bank stroll, NGV, dumplings (her first in 20 years), QVM (first Borek) Botanic gardens, random city strolling, st Kilda pier and strip with pub and food. museum, Thai food, many tram rides, fancy coffees. She is pooped from the walking (so am I) and tapped out early today. Last day tomorrow will be chill because her back is hurting. Albert Park lake and good lunch.
::: spoiler my cute summer jegging/jorts are coming along nicely!
:::
For doing this all by hand, it doesn't look half bad! Quite proud of myself! Now I have to do the other leg, and then fix the pocket, add some pretty buttons, and it will be golden!
Yeah....but not if it's toro from a little place near shibuyu junction that we stumbled upon. That was 11 years ago and just reading your comment brought back that melt in your mouth taste...

Apologies, I've been doing Friday night things. Um, at a glance, you'll need lemmy.world admins to help with a lemmy.world account. I'll take a better look tomorrow, I'm not really in a position to drive cars or admin access just at the moment.
Nice. The trains on my line have been cancelled for the next four days, without notice
it won't even be extra quiet as there is going to be demo and construction work a mile away across the grimpen mire, the sound will echo across the barren wastelands
A bit of cloud cover has started to creep in, hopefully heralding the predicted few days of rain. I've been watering these grass seeds a few times a day, having volunteer sky water will be a blessing. Just crossing my fingers that "possible thunderstorms" does not happen and wash all my seeds away.
I woke up with my ovaries being squeezed to death, my knee really fucking hurting and my finger being aware it's cut. My man is plying me with booze. I'm numb now and happy.
::: spoiler back pain update - things are looking slightly up
The prescription anti-inflammatories I'm taking for my back are making me feel quite woozy and light-headed, but they are definitely helping with reducing the overall pain. Not out of the woods yet - it's worst overnight / in the morning, tapers out during the day. At least I can move around more freely now and do some light exercising.
Dr ChatGPT says my muscle strain could have healed already, but the inflammation remains. I have to push through the drug wooziness to get this under control. I need my fitness routine back ASAP, mentally I feel really struck down from all this.
The x-ray / blood test results are back but the GP was booked out today, so I'm left on the edge of my seat until next week. I'm assuming no urgent phone call means nothing serious.
:::
Aside from some residual lung crud I seem to be better. Got off remarkably lightly. On the other hand, the Frog Princess is washing his hair that feels like bubblegum.
::: spoiler Bummer, vomit warning, skip if vents bring you down
Iโve been trying to eat more and exercise but itโs so hard. I just took a second walk because Iโm so antsy and understimulated but came home and was immediately sick. Despite my best efforts my stomach just medically doesnโt function properly and it gets worse when Iโm stressed out.
Sometimes I wonder what the point of my life is if itโs going to be so hard. I donโt want much. I donโt want to be rich or have fancy things. I donโt care about sex or relationships. I donโt care about being famous or in any way exceptional.
I just want to be okay. I just want my cat and I to live somewhat happily and not have every single day be a shitfight.
:::
everyday write down at least one good thing that happened or that you did
( me, I think I have a friend currawong, it seems to follow me around the garden and on the balcony. I saw a mirage on the bay, a big boat that seemed to float above the water )
fuck it's hard. Hugs of the biggest kind. You do so much to be ok and you deserve to be ok and safe and healthy and I wish nothing but grace .
my science training taught me that the hydrogen in me is 13.8 billion years old, the carbon from old stars, the iron from supernovae. In some ways I am the most boring thing that has ever happened to me. In other ways this is how the universe sees itself. Even my worst moments are ok because that's just part of the whole universe experience. That's not twee. That's objective fact.
Both these things are true. Use what you need or throw them out if it's not what you need right now.
You totally need to do it, it's a great time! I suggest Sushi Jiro if there's one near you, they've got a pretty good standard! My favourite in the city is Horatu but I haven't been in years!
The floor mats to go under my office chair turned out to be really hard to unroll. I've managed to get them in place and weighted down in the hope they will manage to stay flat. If they don't the next step is a hair dryer. I'm pleased with the quality, they look like they should last well, unlike the carpet which I don't think is designed to actually be used.
Iโve taken a short walk, done ten stomp squats, and eaten something containing fat to take vitamin d and calcium on. Now I have to raise the energy to shower. Why is it so hard to maintain the meat puppet. Why does it always hurt.
Crochet is boring. Still art blocked so maybe some art warmups (and if not maybe find something to put on and go back to crochet).
Melbcat has had wet food and is basking in the sun. The mark on her lip looks a little smaller and the other hasnโt grown. But that is the opposite of how Aldara worksโฆ waiting on this referral.
Assuming you're going to Kyoto, most of the major tourist attractions are on the outskirts of the city so choose a side for one day and focus on hitting up the attractions nearby to one another. Bamboo forest and monkey park are must-do for a first timer which you can visit in one day. I also enjoyed Ginkaku-ji and walking the Philosopher's path to Nanzen-ji, the walk between the two temples is beautiful. Kiyomizu-dera is a must-visit temple, it's enormous but very touristy, super crowded when I visited.
Visiting the alleyways of the Gion district, especially a night where you can bar hop.
Fushimi Inari Shine - this is with all the torii gates lined up, very famous. Loved seeing this.
And if you have time, visit a smaller temple with less tourists where you can really soak in the atmosphere.
The Yasaka Shrine is really cool at night (this is the one with the lanterns that's in lots of Kyoto photos).
