The near death experience probably helped her realize that life is far to short to be living as a gender they don't identify with.

THE DIRECTORS OF THE FIRM HIRED TO CONTINUE THE RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY AFTER THE OTHER PEOPLE HAD BEEN SACKED, WISH IT TO BE KNOWN THAT THEY HAVE JUST BEEN SACKED.

THE RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY HAS BEEN COMPLETED IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STYLE AT GREAT EXPENSE AND AT THE LAST MINUTE.

I wasn't expecting some kind of car accident transition.

(Dramatic music)

NOBODY EXPECTS THE CAR ACCIDENT TRANSITION!

yeah my mastectomy is on the books as alleviating back pain. and like. it did do that!

Ilixtze@lemmy.ml · 19 pts · 276d (4 replies)

Personally i would just add boobs on my back to even it out...

Lol that reminds me, my AP physics teacher remarked something like "I know it sounds cruel, but have pregnant women carry a backpack. It moves their center of gravity back to the middle of them and they can walk upright again. It's what I did for my two kids"

Slightly related, she was a really good physics teacher.

Oooohhh - that’s a new take! I thought the back pain was due to having to carry extra weight and muscles not being trained for it. I never considered that the position of the weight might be a problem!

Torque is a real b****

drcobaltjedi@programming.dev · 2 pts · 275d

(Note, I can't get pregnant)

I don't know if back pain is caused by the offset of their center of gravity or if its caused from the extra load. I only know she said to do that as a way to stand upright again

Please elaborate on the back pain part

Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world · 36 pts · 276d

Carrying boobs around on your chest causes back pain in the same way that carrying a heavy box around at chest height all day, every day would. Take them off and now your back gets some rest.

runner_g@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 20 pts · 276d (2 replies)

Boobies are heavy and can cause back pain.

I didn't even think, like, she hit a moose, but that she was in an accident while driving with a moose in her car.

kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 21 pts · 276d (5 replies)

It wasn't the car moose's fault, so it seems unfair to mention them. It was the road moose that was a problem.

FoxyFerengi@startrek.website · 10 pts · 276d (4 replies)

Are you saying moose are like cats, they pick fights with moose on the other side of a window?

TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 276d

I mean do we even know what kind of car the moose was driving?

baguettefish@discuss.tchncs.de · 4 pts · 276d (2 replies)

pretty sure the plural is meese

FoxyFerengi@startrek.website · 4 pts · 276d (1 reply)

Just in case you aren't joking, the plural is moose.

baguettefish@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 276d

Mae Martin's parents once drove their car under a moose and now Mae is non-binary

I think it goes like... if you avoid the moose your gender stays the same. If you hit it your gender changes and if you drive under it you become non-binary ?

RebekahWSD@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 275d

Mae Martin on Taskmaster was A+

Nobody expects the Monty Python Moose Reference!

TomMasz@piefed.social · 7 pts · 276d

Hitting a moose with a car is really bad for the person(s) in the car. Their bodies are basically at windshield height and become a half-ton missile aimed at the front seat. It's easy to imagine the emotional trauma alone being enough to motivate someone to make a significant life change they've been hesitating over for years.

Ray Raymond: You feeling better, Miss California?

Jaime Sommers: Yes, I needed a rest. You know, the excitement of all of this kinda snuck up and grabbed me from behind.

Digit@lemmy.wtf · 2 pts · 276d

Was the moose driving?

Might explain the crash.
