...Why is Franklin using a Russian RPG from a Huey when he should be sitting in a cushy Langley office controlling the drone launching Hellfire missiles at passing recreational sailors?

eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 59 pts · 262d (12 replies)

Why is Franklin using the cabin of the helo as a backblast area?

zakobjoa@lemmy.world · 44 pts · 262d (4 replies)

He yelled "backblast clear", so they should be good.

Edit: Your hearing loss is not service related.

"Clear Backblast!"

everyone jumps out of the huey

BearGun@ttrpg.network · 7 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Including the pilot, and Franklin goes down with the chopper like he deserves

CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 1 pts · 240d

He's a sea turtle now.

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 261d

Precisely.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 24 pts · 261d (2 replies)

There's also a muzzle flash, which isn't how an RPG works.

SlurpingPus@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 260d (1 reply)

Someone should submit all these comments as ‘community notes’.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 260d

That would actually be a genius move. Make a post about all the dangers of using an RPG in this way, as well as the technical inaccuracy of the muzzle flash.

absentbird@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 261d

Because it's slop.

xxce2AAb@feddit.dk · 12 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Ah, I know this one: Because he's an idiot.

At least he got the orientation right. I've personally seen several Russian soldiers who didn't.

rbos@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 261d

Personally? The only way...gasp! J'accuse!

CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 240d

Yeah, someone posted a Russian soldier straight up shouldering a recoilless rifle somewhere here.

Like, mixing up ends is one thing, if you have vodka instead of training, but have you not played a video game or watched an action movie?

garth@sh.itjust.works · 28 pts · 262d (1 reply)

Sitting at a desk all day, starting at screens, can become so banal. Variety is the spice of life, no? If you aren't using black-market RPGs to blast vaguely identified boats from the open side of a Vietnam-era helicopter then are you even living?

xxce2AAb@feddit.dk · 4 pts · 261d

Well, no. Not to worry though: I'm Danish, so I'll be catching RPG's strapped to Russian FPV drones with my face soon enough.

Blackmist@feddit.uk · 18 pts · 261d

I don't know about you but I can't even get erect unless I see the life fade from someone's eyes in person.

Estiar@sh.itjust.works · 12 pts · 261d (1 reply)

Those offices are not cushy. The fan never works properly. The AC makes it so it has 10000 ft of temperature difference in 10 feet. And can someone bring me another frappachino?

xxce2AAb@feddit.dk · 7 pts · 261d

"This chair isn't upholstered in real leather! I demand a refund!"

"We... pay you to be here."

"Good point! I demand a raise!"

When did Franklin grow to Gamera-esque proportions?

We don't body shame here

Actually a very unlikely picture as Franklin is a Canadian children story series. Multiple books have circulated for decades. So unlikely that a Canadian character would be performing murders on behalf of the fascist regime headquartered in Peter Teels mansion.

Yes, this is more something you’d find in a Sweet Pickles book.

Or it can, and it's just a colossal turtle

enbiousenvy@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 260d

lol you made me stare at the image for a minute trying to re-register anything on the helicopter as well aligned, but just massive, and my brain couldn't work in it

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 19 pts · 261d (2 replies)

I'm going to focus my nitpick to:

Clear Backblast?

... everyone in that huey now has a concussion, at best.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 261d (1 reply)

The pilots are wearing helmets and hearing protection, plus the windows are down.

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 8 pts · 261d

Cool!

Doesn't matter, not with the rear of the rpg being angled more or less directly at the roof.

If it was being held horizontally?

Yeah maybe different story.

Funny coincidence:

Franklin's theme song is by a French Canadian artist named Bruce Cockburn (...pronounced co-burn) who also has a wonderful song called "If I had a Rocket Launcher"
