I legit asked myself this when I would pretend to throw my dog’s ball or hide her toy under her blanket and then sneak it out and have her look for the toy when it’s not actually in the blanket. Does my audience think of me as God or think of themselves as stupid?
I saw a meme a few weeks ago by a woman who was convinced that her cats cried for her to make the sun come out or to make it stop raining, not understanding that her powers are limited to light switches and the shower. I assume dogs are the same.
I saw the title, and hoped someone was summoning Demons from the Key of Solomon or some shit. Like they were worried about their dog getting possessed.
But yeah, "am I hurting my dog's brain with a card trick" is pretty funny too
Yes very bad for dog. Before i leave for work, i get an announcer saying "WELCOME WHODEENY" then my dog gets locked in his create and does magic and stole my bag of doritos

I like to think that they think of their toys as alive. You and the toy collaborated to create a fun game of SUPER LOUD SNIFFS to find the toy lol

It was usually a rubber KONG toy so not really anthropomorphic

For years, my dogs favorite toy was a nerf branded football made for dogs.
He would cuddle it, and whenever he got excited and actually chewed it, he would then whimper and cry and cuddle it more, because he hurt his baby

Well, not with that attitude. You just have to anthropomorphize harder!

But that's what prey looked like on the dog's home planet!

Yes! I'm convinced my dogs think I'm doing it. It's not my fault!

Can confirm. Cat loves the 2nd story balcony. Yells at us every year when "we turn the snow on again", making it so he can't enjoy the balcony.
We are rude.

There’s 72 but I’m really only interested in summoning the hot ones, which are like, maybe two of them

this stunned my cat

Cats were accidentally created by a normal chihuahua shrinking spell malfunctioning so yes.

I once heard that laser pointers are bad for cats' mental health: the tantalizing red dot that they just cannot catch.
Best to let them see the dot "run away and escape" if they do chase one.
