The dumb also seem to think they can partake in his life of spoon-fed privilege and avoid all consequences. I will never understand how he got these people so duped.
Same with how so many religious admire such an amoral, vile, rapist and thief. He's well beyond false idol status with tons of them.
You have to already have a lot of people prepped as this stupid and receptive to it though, first.
If we had a well-fed, financially secure and stable, well-educated populace with very high rates of literacy and numeracy, as well as steeped in things like media literacy and critical thinking, they would not be so receptive to this.
He thinks people seeking asylum came from mental institutions. He is obsessed with putting his name on shit he did nothing to make. He is obsessed with ballrooms. He is obsessed with windmills and thinks they are bad. He is obsessed with letting criminals like Tina Peters and the J6 terrorists go unpunished. He is obsessed with thinking he is the one that ended California's fires.
It just goes on and on. He's a gigantic manbaby who understands nothing about the real world.
But he had just enough brainstems to vote for him and still support him even now, because a certain kind of person thinks that this kind of thing is "charismatic".
That's from Jack Posobiec's (trump supporter) website. Reading what Gallego actually wrote I must confess while I'm not completely on board what he's saying I do kind of understand where he's coming from. Some people have the perhaps false impression that Democrats are focused on correcting people for minor things but a lot of that is because of right-wing propaganda ex: from Fox.

The reason he won at all is because he is the champion of the dumb. They see themselves in him.

They are stupid. So, kind of tautologically, they reason poorly and make bad decisions.

100s of millions of dollars into his campaign/propaganda/lies/corruption assisted a bit I'd wager.

It’s Ruben Gallego. Someone who is against trans rights and thinks dem women look ugly. Yawn.
BoycottTwitter@lemmy.zip · 10 pts · 228d
I researched your claims because I was curious about this having never heard about any of this.
What I found is that "against trans rights" seems to come solely or mostly from a leaked text message that I'm guessing you're referring to.
I found this article which looked at his overall record: https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2024/10/rep-ruben-gallego-a-champion-for-lgbtq-rights-in-congress/ and it's overall positive including on trans rights.
As for the leaked text message it seems the original source was here: https://humanevents.com/2025/11/25/exclusive-reuben-gallegos-leaked-texts-mocking-appearance-of-democrat-women-revealed (archive link so you don't have to give the website your click https://archive.is/yaSNB)
