.......why are they on social media AT ALL? What kinds of tweets would they even send???

Hey @Julio we're coming to deport you and your whole family! See ya at 6!

Seriously. What is the use case here?

HeyJoe@lemmy.world · 86 pts · 233d

Propaganda.

RegularJoe@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 233d

0 posts. My guess is to link to ice[dot]gov

Linking from one site to another (external linking) can indirectly benefit SEO by enhancing content credibility.

But I have no idea what they are thinking/expecting.

This is what their account says:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Protects America through criminal investigations and by enforcing immigration law to preserve national security and public safety.

They will create an account bait until getting banned then trump will spaz out and try sue and threaten bluesky.

Whostosay@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 233d

Good. Then everyone can realize there is only one truly ungovernable form of social media

flatplutosociety@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 231d

We know that the administration is willing to monitor social media to make problems for people who oppose the government, and I've seen a LOT of people posting potentially legally actionable things specifically relating to ICE's presence on the platform. A bunch of easily identifiable people posting things that could be legally interpreted as threats to ICE makes the DOJ very happy.

Why are people in Bsky at all? That's just the next Twitter, with Nazis and propaganda, controlled by a different oligarch.

Mastodon

hopesdead@startrek.website · 13 pts · 233d

Exactly.

SarahValentine@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 233d

Pterodactyl!

Grimy@lemmy.world · 34 pts · 233d (4 replies)

Don't block them, aggressively mock and insult them under every post. That's literally why we don't have conservative subs on Lemmy.

cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone · 8 pts · 233d

blocking works better there's a reason why the white house accounts haven't posted in like two months

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 233d (2 replies)

I really don't think whatever PR person runs that account will care that much.

SacralPlexus@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 233d

It’s not for them. The mockery is for all of the audience to see. It’s propaganda too.

mycodesucks@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 233d

Probably gonna be a bot anyway.

SacredHeartAttack@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 233d (8 replies)

The simple fact that it’s a verified account is enough to keep me away.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · -20 pts · 233d (7 replies)

Would you prefer they only let people you agree with on the platform?

user_name@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 233d

Well, maybe not quite that far but not letting Nazis hang out at the party would be a start.

JackBinimbul@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 12 pts · 232d (1 reply)

Literally yes.

If you "disagree" on human rights, you don't get a platform.

flatplutosociety@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 226d

Yeah. If you disagree with me on tax and healthcare policy or whatever, I'm happy to share a platform with you. If you disagree with me on the human rights that should be afforded to immigrants, racial minorities, LGBT people, etc, I hope you get banned from the entire internet.

jjjalljs@ttrpg.network · 8 pts · 233d

False dichotomy

73ms@sopuli.xyz · 7 pts · 232d

"Oh so you want to have CSAM on the platform?"

Just misrepresenting the position you're holding in the same way you are doing to others.

explodicle@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 232d

Paradox of tolerance

SarahValentine@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 232d

On what, exactly, do you think they disagree?

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 5 pts · 232d (3 replies)

isnt ESPN running ice propaganda, by having ICE RECRUITMENT ADS on them,.

flatplutosociety@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 231d (2 replies)

I don't know if they still are now, but they were running a LOT of them a few months ago.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 231d (1 reply)

it does make sense, since sports is political, and most conservative watch it, its more eyes for recruitment. theres also plenty of Poc joining ice apparently too.

flatplutosociety@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 226d

Oh yeah, the demographic that would favor ICE ads the most is definitely sports viewers and military propaganda shows (NCIS and such). I'm sure those ads are all over CBS prime time as well.
