I honestly don't know who that is but I hope you enjoy it. Also good on you for venturing out by yourself. That's a cool and brave thing to do I reckon.
Reminiscing about the days when we'd be at Triple J Hottest 100 parties on Australia Day, enjoying beers and snags and scoffing at the position of every song (should have been higher / should have been lower).
Now it's just on a Saturday so everyone with kids is out doing extra curricular activities, some are working, and most of us forget the day it's meant to be on anyway. And you're not allowed to call it Australia Day anymore either.
So fucks me. Eventually one of the "change the date" groups will actually supply a suitable alternative, we'll move the public holiday, and maybe it can be a day of relaxing and fun in the sun again. Until then I'm going to sleep in, eat cereal for lunch, and watch some TV in the AC.
I emigrated in 1994 and had never heard of Invasion Day until about 9 years ago when I was helping a half Aboriginal mate move house.
Him and his daughter were on a call and wished one another happy invasion day. I was taken aback to be honest.
I'd say you and I seem to have a similar outlook on the whole thing but hey, I'm not getting involved in that.
It's taken me two years and 170ish hours, I think I'm only 15-20 hours away from the end. By far the single longest save file in a single player game (that contains a story) that I've ever played.
Me and my buddies are having an "Australia Day" on the next weekend.

Nothing. A significant portion of our population recognises the date as a date of remembrance for lives and culture lost in a hostile invasion.

Heading to an Invasion Day rally.
There's other, more low-key events on over the weekend, too. Some lists of events:

Same as every weekend: getting drink, watching YouTube, playing videogames. Probably all at the same time.

Sounds fine by me. Enjoy.

Close to nothing. Playing Arc Raiders. Doing my online course.
DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 202d
Cool. What's the course if you don't mind ?

Cert 3 in aged/ndis support.
DiaDeLosMuertos@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 202d
Oh yeah. Sweet. I know people in that area, and I also know people that need the support in that area. A fair few thinking about it now.
I hope everything works out great for you.

Eating lamb chops and snags with a beer or 2.

Sounds great. Lamb seems expensive these days.

Locking-in and finally finishing Baldur's Gate 3.

Wow. That's a lot of dedication. Good stuff. Hope you get to finish it.
Also, I'm not a player of games and have zero idea about it all.
But I do get the dedication. Cheers.
