This is just so ridiculous and appalling.

The corded version goes far harder and far longer than the rechargeable.

Yes you need an electric outlet, but thats what the public library is for!

thats what the public library is for!

No it isn't! Powering your vibrator is only one of the many essential services the public library offers!

You seem unaware that "far harder" isn't and objective positive. If anything a minority of people find that a positive.

JackbyDev@programming.dev · 2 pts · 178d

Also my understanding is that the corded version has less settings as well.

I saw a video where a lady shocked her funny smelling bits with one of those that had a frayed cord.

Still a better love story than Twilight.

That bar is so low that the Kola Superdeep Borehole didn’t uncover it.

fartographer@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 178d

I'm sure them bits smelled different after they were shocked

Hitachi should have just fully embraced it and advertise it everywhere across their product lines to distinguish themselves from the competition.

Buying a backhoe or front end loader? Now introducing the Hitachi Backhoe with Magic Wand massager pleasure device! Turn your backhoe into a front hoe!

I kind of love that this company makes everything from nuclear reactors to tractors to the industry standard vibrator.

RustySharp@programming.dev · 32 pts · 179d

We had some Hitachi trains here in Australia. "Riding a Hitachi with my friends," was a common weekend activity for me.

Oh and we sometimes catch the train too.

Mirshe@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 179d (2 replies)

They don't make it anymore, they sold it off a couple years ago because of "optics".

panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 179d (1 reply)

This makes me sad.

Did quality drop off?

BeardedGingerWonder@feddit.uk · 3 pts · 179d

Presumably not significantly, I hear the NYT just recommended it as the best vibrator for most people.

SlurpingPus@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 178d

It's the running theme with Japanese zaibatsus and Korean chaebols, they expanded into manufacturing everything when those markets were still new. Samsung also produced stuff from tanks, fighter jets and trains to phones and monitors (although iirc they spun off the military manufacturing into a separate company).

hayvan@piefed.world · 2 pts · 179d

They made amazing boomboxes back in 80s. We have one still operational.

CADmonkey@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 179d (1 reply)

They used to make carburetors too.

Don't judge, everybody has a bad day sometimes.

In case anyone wants a much, much better sex toy reviewer, go check out 'Oh joy! Sex Toy!' It's a webcomic where the author has been reviewing various bits and bobs that touch bits and bobs for years.

We didn't have a particularly great experience with air pulse, so it's probably just not for everyone

surewhynotlem@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 180d (3 replies)

Did they try it on normal folks or just models?

MintyFresh@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 180d (2 replies)

It was me, I'm the tester. Just a warehouse full of splayed legged models and me, in a rain poncho, with a back massager.

Many people get tired of having to charge rechargeables. Even if they are happy with the vibes, they generally want to go back to a plug-in when they can.

The best would be one that vibes harder when plugged in, but can be unplugged and used for a good 25min, minimum, sesh... And also be water resistant.

That way I you can run plugged unless for some reason you don't want the cord or the danger of using it plugged in near water.

Basically covers all the bases.

Noodle07@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 179d (1 reply)

I wish I had the different set of parts, those looks so much funnier to use than my part even though I'm sure it works with mine too

HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 178d

ikr? Their parts have way more interesting options!

It's hilarious that one of the most beloved sex toys came from Hitachi, and was never intended for clitoral stimulation.

Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 178d (4 replies)

What was it intended for?

I think Hitachi make some if the best cranes too

Ibaudia@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 178d (1 reply)

It was just supposed go be a muscle massager originally

phx@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 178d

That's the official word on it but realistically that could also be because a "muscle massager" was likely more socially acceptable and this likely to sell better. It kinda feels like a "they knew" category to me

iamericandre@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 178d (1 reply)

And power tools

Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 178d

Until they partnered with Hikoki, that sent be over to Milwakee since they had a longer warranty period and all my Hitachi batteries were failing
