I thought all the imbeciles would be MAGA supporters but this discussion

You are the maga supporter by supporting this war

It’s not even clear if the genocide in Gaza has the goal of killing people (which is the precise reason why it’s not 100% sure the ICJ will end up ruling it’s a genocide *), and you say that “war” (doesn’t matter if you mean this specific one or war in general) has the goal of massacring people?

ICJ declared the genocide in Bosnia 12 years after it happened. Multiple genocide and holocaust expert agree that it is a genocide. Israeli leaders statements and damage on the ground shows that is a genocide

SmackemWittadic@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 174d

To reduce suffering, a large source of it needs to have their international influence reduced.

EDIT: In case it isn't clear, I mean the Israeli government needs to be fucking dismantled, the billionaires need to be taxed to have their class be nonexistent, and free, non-biased education needs to be the norm.

Iranian missiles continue to undermine years of propaganda about defense systems.

With targets in Israel being hit by Iranian missiles and other targets at American bases in the Gulf region, even in the face of numerous Patriot batteries that are now known to be firing with little success, given the numerous explosions in Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Kingdom (typo for UAE I'm sure), Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

I’m If the Iranian launches maintain the current pace, they should deplete the Patriot interceptor stockpiles protecting these bases within 48 hours, leaving only Riyadh, which possesses a large number of its own batteries with ammunition, including a THAAD battery.

In the case of Jordan, there is also coverage by batteries on Israeli territory. In the case of Israel, interceptions appear to have failed again, as several explosions have been heard in various cities. Iran appears to have used its most modern missiles in the initial attacks.

Despite the evident success of the Iranian missiles, it is still too early to discuss the degree of failure of the air defenses, not to mention that they exist.

On both sides, the attacks hit civilian targets, and in Tel Aviv, houses are burning, while in Iran, a school was hit, leaving at least 23 children dead and others trapped under rubble. To further complicate the security of patriotic supplies in the region, the Houthis announced the closure of traffic in the Red Sea and full support for Iranian retaliation, which should mean missiles targeting American and Israeli bases.

With the start of naval combat, it will be possible to see how prepared Iran is for a prolonged conflict, supporting bombings on its territory.

https://xcancel.com/pati_marins64/status/2027686503451709784 (video of strike)

Iranian missiles hit dozens of targets in a short time with multiple impacts in Israel.

As I said weeks ago, all American bases in the region are being targeted. So far, Patriots and THADs have been unable to protect even the bases in Israel, which host a large portion of the American air force. These aircraft will have to disperse to various smaller airports.

With the current attacks, Iran has left the coalition without secure bases or safe ranges to retaliate through the air at this moment.

It is likely that several American and Israeli drones are trying to map Iranian launchers to target these locations in a second wave of attacks, which is a difficult task due to the mobility of these launchers.

The pace of attacks from both sides has already exceeded a hundred missile launches, and the number is set to increase.

In American bases alone, there have been dozens of explosions. At this rate, Tomahawks will be depleted in less than a week.

How will coalition forces proceed without secure bases within range for air operations?

The British Defense Secretary John Healey says Iran launched two missiles toward Cyprus. Healey confirmed thousands of British troops are stationed in Cyprus, which also hosts significant IOF reserve bases, air defense, and intelligence infrastructure.

■ Cyprus has played a key logistical and military role for the IOF, US, and UK in carrying out the Gaza genocide.

■ Hezbollah's martyred leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned Cyprus in 2024, “[Israel believes] that if their own airports are targeted, they will use Cypriot airports and facilities. Therefore, the Cypriot government must understand that opening Cypriot airports and bases for war against Lebanon will make Cyprus an enemy of the war.”

■ Now, Iran is striking back at Cyprus for their role in carrying out Western aggression against the region.

Statement of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran

Announcement No. 1 of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran

The brave nation of Iran this morning was targeted by a brutal air operation carried out by the ruthless American regime along with the corrupt Zionist regime against centers in the country. This occurred once again during negotiations, and the enemy imagines that the resilient Iranian nation will surrender to their petty demands through these cowardly actions.

The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have begun a crushing response to their malicious actions and will continuously keep the dear people informed. It is necessary to pay attention to the following points:

1- According to information obtained from these two corrupt regimes, their operations will continue in Tehran and some other cities. Therefore, as much as possible, while maintaining calm, travel to other centers and cities if possible to stay safe from the malice of these two regimes.

2- The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has already prepared all the community's needs, and there is no concern about the supply of public necessities. People should avoid crowding in shopping centers as it may pose risks to them.

3- Schools and universities will be closed until further notice.

4- Banks will continue to serve the dear nation of Iran.

5- Government offices will operate at 50% capacity for the time being.

Further reports will be announced subsequently.

Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran

Israel targets elementary school in Iran; 5 martyred. The political, security, and social deputy governor of Hormozgan said: A girls’ elementary school was directly hit in today’s Israeli attacks on Minab County, and so far five students have been killed.

Looking at the situation like adults, we understand that schoolchildren have minimal tactical value. This is unclear to Israelis, who position their bases right next to preschools.

Don't take anyone here too seriously we are just aggregating stuff. Mostly alt media. I just happened to bounce into some alt media stuff that is particularly critical of the alt media, so I established a sorting system for history and philosophy texts & aggregators thereof to weed out as much imperialist crap as possible right. Plus basic piracy abilities and you're suddenly able to use the internet a lot better!

Anyways you seem really nice so don't take this the wrong way but nobody here is actually in a community with each other. This is a communications platform where people can freely manipulate it, even small groups of hobbyists. So don't think that anyone here is really comrades. Are these being intercepted by the iron dome?

jasonthedragon442@lemmy.ml · 7 pts · 173d

No. Iron dome is for short range rockets, mostly from Lebanon and Gaza. These are intercepted by much larger and more expensive systems.

I will do an in-depth post on Israel's air defense systems later, but the point of the first waves was to expend and probe their air defenses with older missiles and drones, like last time. We already saw massively increased response time, firepower, and effectiveness in that regard, so expect to see large hypersonic strikes. Although we may not get as many "yow yow" videos due to censorship.

🇮🇷⚡️🇮🇱 New launches towards the occupied territories

🇮🇷 IRGC: The Armed Forces Will Take a Different and Harsh Step of Revenge

  • The sixth wave of Operation True Promise 4 was powerfully carried out with extensive missile and drone attacks by the IRGC on the occupied territories and U.S. military bases in the region.

  • 27 points of U.S. bases in the region, along with the Tel Nof base, the general command headquarters of the Zionist army in Hakaria, and the large defense industries complex in Tel Aviv, were among the targets attacked.

  • The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will not allow the sound of the alarm siren in the occupied territories and American bases to cease, and with successive and regret-inducing blows, they will carry out a different and harsh step of revenge.

Statement from PFLP:

“Obituary

🔴The Popular Front mourns the passing of the great fighter and leader of the Iranian Revolution, Ali Khamenei, and a group of martyred leaders

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine mourns the passing of the great leader and fighter, Mr. Ali Khamenei, the guide and leader of the Iranian Revolution, and a group of his comrades, military and political leaders, who were killed in a treacherous criminal assassination carried out by the forces of the Zionist-imperialist alliance.

We in the Popular Front, as we bid farewell to this revolutionary fighter who took up the banner of the revolution from its founder, Khomeini, affirm that his passing represents a loss for the forces of global resistance seeking to break American hegemony and liquidate the Zionist project. The deceased devoted his life to the front lines of resistance against projects of expansion and domination, and worked for three decades to consolidate the Republic's position as a country with a balanced regional presence and a central base of support for national liberation movements, foremost among which was the Palestinian resistance, which found strategic support in his positions during the darkest of times.

The rise of leaders in the fields of confrontation represents a renewed stage in the course of open conflict; whenever treacherous forces attempt to undermine it, the revolution grows stronger, and the blood that has been shed becomes a living memory that drives greater determination to resist all forms of colonial presence and Zionist aggression in our region. The policy of assassinations will not be able to extinguish the will of the peoples, and has always been a driving force and motivation to strengthen resilience and transform loss into a force of resistance against projects of subjugation.

This crime is not the end, but rather a new chapter in a process in which the peoples' awareness of the reality of the conflict is growing and the will to resist and defend sovereignty and dignity is deepening. Iran, with its established institutions and cohesive people, will overcome this loss and is capable of filling any leadership vacuum with competence and authority, preserving its revolutionary approach and principled choices.

The Popular Front, expressing its full solidarity with the Iranian people and their leadership, stresses that strengthening coordination between the forces of liberation and consolidating “unity in the trenches and resistance in various arenas of confrontation” is the most effective way to confront imperialist and Zionist arrogance.

Glory and immortality to the martyrs... We will surely be victorious.
