If you are dumb enough to use glasses like these, you deserve it. Who would ever trust Meta of all companies with everything you see and hear?

UnspecificGravity@piefed.social · 53 pts · 173d

Sure, but what about all the people those idiots encounter who didn't consent to this at all?

TrojanRoomCoffeePot@lemmy.world · 36 pts · 173d

It's worse than that, the idiots wearing Meta Glasses are recording everything in front of their stupid fucking faces. They're potentially endangering every single person that they come into contact with.

No, all you get is a long advertisement video from Meta, that shows what the AI will be capable in the future, if we let it break things in the present, similar in style to those propaganda videos made by the automotive industry, to get more funding for highways.

There was an article yesterday that said that Meta employees get all of the footage too. So no private time while wearing them.

Do they wear them in the bathroom at facebook HQ too? "Look at my piss and shit!" they say into the microphones to each other. "Chat what is this red bump?"

I doubt it, because they know what they can do.

Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses are a privacy nightmare, with footage of naked people, sensitive information, and violent acts captured and seen by Meta's AI and an army of employees.

It should be socially acceptable to punch these fuckers in the face. How do I recognize those glasses?

There's app for that, no seriously.

Love the CYA warning in all caps lmao.

interesting, they are distributing the app on free app stores: https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/ch.pocketpc.nearbyglasses

Thanks. Not on my F-Droid main repo by default and I am not a big fan of apps, but at least they are trying.

Agreed. Currently the cameras are pretty easy to spot from punching distance.

Breaking news: the sky is blue, flowers are pretty, and fire is hot. More at 11.
