No problem here, destroying Windows is in our second nature.

mech@feddit.org · 38 pts · 169d

No problem getting out, MS keeps Windows broken.

I’ve still never bothered to figure out where this is reported… it’s been 15 years.

ozymandias117@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 169d

Oof. Should we tell him what he's in store for, guys?

Laughs, as still better than using windows 🤣🤣

FrChazzz@lemmus.org · 16 pts · 169d

Well, to be fair, Windows will refuse to open before like fifteen updates so your fate is sealed regardless.

Rentlar@lemmy.ca · 14 pts · 169d

I was told firejail is more secure. This is fine.

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 169d

I'll just spin up a VM real quick.

No leaving before you git push, you'd better start working on those merge conflicts!

exu@feditown.com · 6 pts · 169d

git push --force

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 169d

You should be working on your own branch anyway.

paequ2@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 169d

Not even once.

AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 169d

That also looks like me on the rare occasion my laptop will randomly go from whatever brightness I set to maximum brightness with no way to change it back manually. Still have no clue why it happens, but at least I can put my laptop to sleep and fix the problem.

MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 169d

It's all okay at long as you have wine with you

texture@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 169d

Gotta run pacman -Syu one more time real quick then I'll uninstall the windows

Digit@lemmy.wtf · 2 pts · 167d

Windows are not the problem.

Microsoft Windows' legal restrictions and source-unavailablity is the problem.

Do not confuse the two.

Windows are important for GNU+Linux users too.

As in: "Never trust a computer you cannot defenestrate."

Like if it catches fire. Better to throw it out a window, than let the house catch fire.

Samskara@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 166d

These are xwindows, so I’m good.

Anyone ever consider how stupid the name Windows is for Microslop's OS.

hellfire103@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 169d (3 replies)

Well, it started out as a basic windowing system for DOS, so...

Doomsider@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 169d (2 replies)

Yeah Microsoft Graphical Boxes makes some sense I suppose. Windows? No, sorry they are not windows.

Why not paintings, canvas, boards, or any other much more logical name. This is some stupid decision by a marketing department.

Samskara@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 166d (1 reply)

What a weird take. Windows in GUIs were a thing years before Microsoft made theirs. It followed white logically from Microsoft DOS. There were several other operating systems called something with DOS at the time, PC-DOS, Novell DOS, and others.

While not a very creative name, it was pretty self explanatory as to its major feature.

Talk about bad names for an operating system, IBM‘s OS/2 is far worse.

Doomsider@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 166d

That is nonsense, I did look it up and it was a last minute marketing decision. Found the guy that likes Winblows!
