Which one did you hit to get sprite? I feel like that would be a pretty big surprise if you were asking for a pepsi

Upgrade if you’re going for a Canada Dry.

I’m a Fever Tree man.

MediumGray@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 149d (3 replies)

I mean Fever Tree is obviously better but also costs three times as much.

666dollarfootlong@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 149d (2 replies)

And what kind of vending machine even has it? Does it even come in cans??

Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 149d (1 reply)

It does. Small cans though.

LemmySchpemmy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 149d

It's cause there's significantly more fresh ginger in them, and I believe more sugar? It's a mixer soda for the most part but a ginger beer is pretty good in the morning with a couple bitters and some lime for a hangover too.

Raiderkev@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 149d

Ginger beer is the 🐐. The 365 ginger ale at whole foods (if they still make it, haven't had it in like a decade) used to be the only tolerable ginger ale on the market that actually tasted like ginger.

Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 149d (2 replies)

Can't say I've ever had it. Who carries it? I'll give it a try

Raiderkev@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 149d

Everywhere. It's usually with the mixers for cocktails. It's a ginger beer, not a ginger ale.

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 148d

It's even available in Estonia so it must be very widespread.

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 149d

that's a ginger beer, not a ginger ale my friend.

gettem!

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 149d

I've only had their tonic water (with gin, very good). Didn't know they made ginger ale...

Recently I went to the hospital for a surgery. It was scheduled for 0630 and they told me no food or drink after 1800 the previous night. I heeded that. At 1100 they told me they were cancelling the surgery.

I said "does this mean I can have some water?" They laughed and brought me 28oz of ginger ale. It was delicious.

Im a pepper man but I do like my sprite

tomi000@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 148d

I would be SO mad if I pressed Dr Pepper and the machine gave me this CocaCola crap

LemmySchpemmy@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 149d

This is what I wanna know

Gork@sopuli.xyz · 27 pts · 149d (1 reply)

Coca-Cola^®^ and Pepsi^®^ products in the same vending machine? What sort of corporate heresy is this?

W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 20 pts · 149d

A privately run one

libre_warrior@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 149d (6 replies)

sprite is boycott. Try lemon soda instead.

scbasteve@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 149d (5 replies)

Why?

libre_warrior@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 149d (4 replies)

Because they are part of Coca Cola Company which has activity in occupied Palestine.

Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip · 0 pts · 148d (3 replies)

Doesn't activity in occupied Palestine mean they provide jobs for Palestinians? I'm confused...

libre_warrior@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 148d (2 replies)

Occupied Palestine = territory Israel has sieged

Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 148d (1 reply)

Oh okay, so it's Israeli jobs in stolen Palestinian territory?

boonhet@sopuli.xyz · 3 pts · 148d

Yes. They wouldn't give Palestinians jobs, that would get them bombed by the IDF.

Depending on what button I pushed I would be annoyed but fine, or aggravated. If I pay for caffeine and you give me this, I'm punching your machine.

bottleofchips@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 9 pts · 149d

Mmm a nice cold can of Dritc

What's the difference between the two Canada Drys? I mean, the labels are obviously different, but they both just seem to be regular ginger ale from what I can make out. Any Canada Dry superfans that can clarify?

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 6 pts · 149d

I think basically one is pretty much... just ginger ale flavor, and the other has more citrus flavoring as well.

Or, there are just two different buttons/labels for Canada Dry, from different... marketing epochs.

I think the Canada Dry that I'm thinking of, thats just ginger ale, is like a bronze colored can, and the '+citrus' one is green ... ?

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 149d (3 replies)

Just extra ginger ale because it's the soda GOAT

(Though I'd have to say Seagram's is better than Canada Dry. Both are better than that Schweppes swill though)

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 149d (2 replies)

I won't stand here for this Vernors heresy

owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 148d (1 reply)

Vernor's is its own class, and I prefer it to drink on its own. But Canada Dry is better for mixed drinks. Excellent with scotch, and a way better mixer for rum than coke (fight me on it).

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 148d

Name the time, name the place. Are we doing a dance off or a kiss off because I am very bad at both

owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 149d

I think they're the same, just different pictures. There are other variants of Canada Dry, but they typically incorporate other colors to distinguish themselves.

I'm guessing this machine is in a high ginger ale demand area.

first one says caffeine free

kinther@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 148d

Years ago I worked at a place with a soda machine. 25 cents in 2008. Crazy cheap.

But when I put a coin in and pressed the buttons just right, it would drop two. I drank so much soda back then.

ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one · 5 pts · 149d (1 reply)

The machine spirits have blessed you.

sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 149d

Bet OP just got Sprite from home. “Oh, I didn’t get the sprite from the machine. Why would you assume that?”

gegil@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 149d (3 replies)

How do this machines work? I have never seen a single one in my country.

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 7 pts · 149d

Those vendormachines is full of cans that are, depending on internal mechanism, put in corkscrews which will, once the motor is activated, pulled toward the front where they will fall down a chute that ends in the lower section of this machine. Once its there the operator can reach into the lower section and grab the can.

Themosthighstrange@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 141d (1 reply)

Paper or coin money go in , u press the button of the soda u want and it drop out in the front of the machine to reach in and get cold
