When is the last time you had actual conversations with friends?

I mean other than those "school friends" that you never hang out outside of school...

Over the weekend.

Yesterday. As a matter of fact quite often, I've found wonderful people to have deep conversations about our projects for our lives, about politics, science... you name it. And of all places, in VR Chat. It's the new third place, a forum to gather without the economical pressure of consuming.

Uh, I wouldn't call anyone my friend if I can't or don't talk to them about that stuff.

Last Wednesday. We regularly go out to a local pub for trivia night and converse face to face there.

Every time I see them, in this case a little over a week ago.

Almost Everyday and I have a super small circle.

You guys have friends?

In the summer when we see each other more at least weekly.

In the winter it is a lot more hibernating and activities of daily living so less frequently.

Over the weekend.

I don't see small talk or whatever as a sign of a lack of interest in someone. Sometimes there's nothing that deep going on to talk about.

When is the last time you had actual conversations with friends?

I gave up on that a long time ago because as it turned out the answer to the modified question was never.

If you count spouses, this morning, if not then sometime around 2000.

Bout 12 hours ago.

Me and my friends frequently discuss how we feel about our lives, jobs, our futures and what our plans are. The last time was yesterday.

If you count spouses, about an hour ago. If not, the last time was on Sunday. We were talking about my friend’s journey to becoming a commercial pilot, and my other friend’s small business. This was in-between turns playing D&D.

Maybe 30 years ago when the arcade was destroyed by a tornado.

Yesterday but my closest friend lives in my house lol. I'd be fucked without him around. The friend group I had basically imploded in my mid 30's.

Semi recently. I’ve got a group of college friends who hang out on discord most nights to game and chat. Most of the time it’s shooting the shit, but we occasionally mix in life talk. We all have some bundle of mental health issues, so stuff related to that comes up a lot. One of my friends has been trying to find a romantic partner and we’ve been giving our fairly limited advice to him on his search.

It’s kind of a shame that we’re not geographically close enough to see each other in person to be more directly supportive, but it is what it is and we’ve had a few visits over the years. ATM I’m with 2 of them on a trip and we got to spend a lot of time chatting.

Basically never, like probably 3 times ever in my life. Most recently about 10 years ago I guess.

Two days ago via discord. I don't live anywhere near the few friends we have, so Mondays and Wednesdays are two days per week where we have the evenings schedules cleared of anything related to spouses, work, offspring, and general adulting.

Those hours are usually spent gaming together, or just general chitchat. These days it's usually Project Zomboid, and the dedicated server I've set up only runs on those days with a fixed set of hours (thanks, cron!), To ensure that we play together rather than someone soloing during the off-hours. Though getting PZ to play nicely with systemd was a PITA.

And if someone were to miss the times lot, then they only missed a few hours total - Yhings will mostly remain as they were last time they played.

Very frequently, across two countries even

A few weeks ago. We talked about vegetarianism, how one of my friends is coping doing loooong shifts as a new doctor, being chronically ill, why the oats you buy in the store aren't any good, the education system, how our parents aren't doing so good, how we can help them, etc. And there were also shenanigans. So many shenanigans.

When i get real depressed maybe

Couple of hours ago. A friend I haven't seen for a few days phoned to see how I was and we talked for about 45mins. In person, on Sunday, two friends in separate visits.
