Google, the owners of YouTube, has removed a channel on the platform belonging to a pro-Iran group producing Lego-themed videos mocking Donald Trump.
"Upon review, we’ve terminated the channel for violating our Spam, deceptive practices and scams policies," a YouTube spokesperson told Middle East Eye.
"YouTube doesn’t allow spam, scams, or other deceptive practices that take advantage of the YouTube community."
Explosive Media's content largely consists of animations ridiculing the US war effort against Iran and poking fun at the US president.

They learned their lesson from this and Huawei, so now private companies are self censoring on behalf of the govt. That's why Colbert is losing his job and cutting edge Chinese phones don't work on American carriers despite being fully compatible.

Every American company is loyal to the empire. If not by gleeful obedience then at least by threat of court orders and political pressure. I guess in Google's case it's that kind of gleeful obedience.

That means the videos were effective; I don't agree with Youtube's decision but it's their business I guess.

I have not only de-googled myself, but I have de-Americaned too Moved all my online business to European equivalents. It has been eye opening as not only are the European equivalents comparable, but they had surprise extras that saved me money overall. That and OMG they are so much easier to setup and navigate as I am not wading through offers, upgrades, pop ups and dark patterns all over the dang place. It is like I have exited an abusive relationship with America that I did not even realize was as bad as it was. I love America, but I cannot be a part of funding their fascism.

I did the same and also I'm trying to use open source wherever is possible.
The only thing that I was still using was reddit but they banned me because I was promoting violence against Israel, while the hate comments against Iran was worse.

Not even a little surprised that tankies – the fucking cognoscenti of rhetoric that pretends to care about a bad thing, masking that the real goal is for "their side" to have a monopoly on the bad thing – lack consistent ethics when it comes to destroying the planet and flooding out human-made media for shitty, braindead, dubiously effective propaganda.
KimBongUn420@lemmy.ml · 15 pts · 118d
Consistent ethics is when I declare all sides bad and ignore geopolitical context
The tankies is China are creating the first electrostate in human history and installing more renewables energy capacity than all of the lib states
It's the tankies that are doing this (not big tech). I am smart

Sounds a lot like: "We broadly support North Korea, but that's too embarrassing to say directly, so we'll just shitpost about it like a neo-Nazi would when asked a direct question about their abhorrent beliefs – afraid of frightening away the normies by revealing their 'power level'."
It's comforting to me that you have to carry the level of shame that your beliefs are unspeakable in spaces dominated by sane people – and are barely even speakable in this deranged hellhole for fear that your monstrous beliefs will surface above the irony poisoning and scare away the few people with functioning consciences who stumbled into this from the front page.
QinShiHuangsShlong@lemmy.ml · 11 pts · 117d
There's no embarrassment, I think I can speak for all Marxists Leninists when I say
We support the DPRK for all it's done for its people who the EuroAmerikans waged a war of extermination on. And not only their people but the oppressed people of the world, from the Americas to Africa supporting anti imperialist struggle the world over.

Just wanted to cut through the bullshit and remind myself that when they said I think "all sides bad and ignore geopolitical context", they were definitely also referring to among the most reprehensible authoritarian regimes on Earth that they support.
Like it's some ridiculous, hand-wavey stance to think the US and North Korea (and obviously Iran, but that doesn't fully illustrate how depraved their worldview is) are simultaneously bad.
KimBongUn420@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 117d
Continue to ignore geopolitical context. Not like the US killed 1/5th of the north Korean population or anything. Not like everything you think you know about the DPRK comes from south Korea (which is US occupied). Stay ignorant and mad lib

Yes, marxist-leninists are pro-AI. Our goal is victory for the working class, and we will use any tool at our disposal to win.
But oh no, the moralizing radlib (dubious "morals" that somehow always ignore their own genocides) has appeared. Status quo defence at any cost is the goal of the radlibs, this includes preserving hollywood's propaganda monopoly.
And the more our enemies tell us not to use it, the more we're proven right. It scares them that the people have access to this power. They hate it when the people have power, and smear it by calling it "populism".
Radlibs hate democracy.
But you can't win. You could destroy all the AI in the west, we won't care. Because the real good AI comes from china. And you can never defeat china.

genAI has predominantly been pushed by the US, particularly the super wealthy in the US, so that they can exploit the working class even more and pay them even less. As much as I hate genAI, seeing Iran, who was absolutely the wronged party in this completely illegal and unnecessary war of imperialist aggression on behalf of a genocidal ethnostate, turn the tool of the oppressors against them, and using it to agitate for class consciousness in the USA, is just fucking awesome, IMO.
Did you see the anti-Trump rap one? It actually goes so fucking hard.
