The thumbnail makes it look like a woman wearing a white 2-piece bathing suit with two rocks at her feet. Seeing that visual non sequitur and then clicking in see the actual image made it somehow hit a bit harder 🫤
I think everyone feels like this, just replace the parts of your body with other parts or your soul and mind if this isn't the exact thing you have or could feel. We all feel that society and groups of or singular other people demand we give parts of ourselves like this. But I think the specific choice of the art piece is perfect.
It's not about giving of ourselves, it's about being so objectified for having particular body parts that you'd rather not have them, just so you could be treated as a human being.
Depends on the job obviously, but I can use my phone at work, including lemmy without issue. I have NSFW blocked. Stuff like this I have to quickly scroll past because this could get me in trouble. Likelihood is low, but not nin existent.

This just makes me sad.
Extremely well done, though.

Much the same, a very hard hitting message.

Don't worry, guys in this thread found a way to sexualise her anyway

Oh the irony...exactly what the artist is discussing. You'd think the look on her face might say enough, but that's so much the issue.

I mean... Boobs are there, of course
Fishnoodle@lemmy.world · -12 pts · 122d

I see a woman floating in mid air with slices of her body removed - something you don’t see every day. And yet tits

So while a serious topic and art subject, upon first glance of the miniature thumbnail, I thought it was wheels of cheese.

men get free drugs when they look at women and most do not learn how to deal with that
it's tragic

But how would women manipulate men then?
DarkerRadical@lemmy.world · -52 pts · 122d
I swear these art communities are just an excuse to post boobs without tagging NSFW
Baleine@jlai.lu · 21 pts · 122d
because its obviously not sexual...
Itsamelemmy@lemmy.zip · 13 pts · 122d
But it is something you probably wouldn't want to be on your screen when your boss walks by. Hence the not safe for work.
anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 122d
Seems like having Lemmy on your screen might be a problem either way, but who knows.

yea nah, just mark this shit, this has been settled decades ago now
Baleine@jlai.lu · 4 pts · 121d
I don't really see how this would get you in trouble, at least you're looking at arts and not shitposts. Your boss should be proud
