Confrims exactly what I expected. They aren't even done with CE and are already moving to the other 2.
In other words: "We aren't listening to feedback and we don't care."
In other other words: "We are still 343 and we haven't changed at all. We are exactly the same and going to keep making the exact same mistakes. Its not that we can't learn. We don't learn, because we refuse to listen."
Halo 4 wasn't that bad. I like it more than 2. Story was worse, but I wouldn't call it terrible, and at least it wasn't grueling to play through on legendary.
I'll give you the environments being bland, but I really didn't have a problem with enemies or weapons. Especially compared to what little was in Halo 2.
I dont think its Microsoft, honestly. The Bungie games weren't screwed up, and Microsoft controlled every aspect of those games starting with Halo 2. The problems literally only started once 343 was formed. I truly believe the problems lie almost entirely in 343. Either management, staff, or both. Probably both.
No one buys original intellectual properties anymore, so studios take the least risky path and remake shit because people are too scared to try new shit. This is your fault, dear reader.
I have doubts that it's because no one buys them but rather that they do not make enough money from new IP as consistently when all they churn out is safe choice shovelware.
MCC are remasters not remakes. This entire discussion got beat to death when the Halo CE remake was announced. The remakes will be completely new games, not visual facelifts on existing ones.
And the battle will continue. I'm ready to fight, to explain and define what those words mean. Even if it cost my life! (ok little dramatic today, but you get the idea)
Master Chief Collection was more of a Remaster than complete Remake, isn't it? Meaning its still the same game, they just touched up things (Remaster). For the upcoming Remakes, the games are programmed and rebuild from scratch on a new engine (Remake).
Im not sure why theyre bothering. Old people will dislike it because it definitely can't be better than the originals felt, and young people will dislike it because its not fortnite bro and cod is way better anyway.
It's not out for Halo 2 yet, but the Halo CE Ruby Rebalance is very good. A lot of thoughtful changes, some obvious (new weapons and enemies) some more invisible (tweaks to weapon stats and enemy spawn logic). It is respectful and high quality enough to the original that if you'd never played CE or hadn't played in a long time, it would be hard to tell what the mod content was.

I gave up on 343 more than a decade ago. Halo died the moment Bungie stepped away from it

It wasn't that bad if you like fighting the same silver enemies using the same three silver guns within the same silver environments

The promethean enemies were not very fun to fight really. Halo 5 made them more fun to fight but the campaign was too short and repetitive.

Think of it like a tag team match. Halo studios brings the abuse and harassment, while Microsoft backs them up with illegal retaliation from HR.

Can we fucking stop with the God damn remakes? Especially ones that sell at full price.

It is kind of sad that they keep rehashing these old games over and over.

They're utterly bereft of original ideas anymore. The AI era is going to make this orders of magnitude worse.

Remade remake? Though I suppose MCC was about 12 years ago 😵 which I think was a 10 year anniversary for Halo 2.. How did we get SO OLD?!

Smh, you're right. I use my "Jump to Conclusions" mat apparently and my brain went right to remaster.
