Every time I see one of these posts:

BandanaBug@piefed.social · 5 pts · 119d (2 replies)
prex@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 118d (1 reply)

Let's see if I can get that format right:

!anythingbutmetric@discuss.tchncs.de

Edit: yay! Subbed

squirrel@cake.kobel.fyi · 3 pts · 118d

You did a good

EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com · 4 pts · 118d (1 reply)

In a row?

Siegfried@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 117d

In a row and spaced exactly 1H diameter from each other. If they dont touch, it isn't gay.

ivanafterall@lemmy.world · 40 pts · 119d (2 replies)

It's rare that one of these makes the American side more appealing. You're shooting yourself in the...well, you know.

Mok98@feddit.it · 16 pts · 119d

Why the hell would I shoot myself in the meter?

daggermoon@piefed.world · 6 pts · 119d

Literally the one time i'm not ashamed to be an American. I'm actually really sad about it.

Godric@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 118d (1 reply)

American here, meters are tools for measuring things! Voltmeter measure volts, speedometers measure speed, etc.

Makes me nervous when I'm walking around, because every step I take my phone's pedometer detects another one :'(

tarn_rep@fedinsfw.app · 1 pts · 100d

Just get a metermeter for lengths!

nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de · 22 pts · 119d (4 replies)

I am not an American, but I want to get measured.

wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 119d (1 reply)

Are paws okay? 🐾

Holytimes@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 118d

Only puppy paws. No cats allowed. Damn claws keep ruining the furniture.

daggermoon@piefed.world · 3 pts · 119d

Join us, we're lonely.

SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 119d

Incidentally I don't know how many feet I measure

Gnugit@aussie.zone · 16 pts · 119d

He was literally 20 hamburgers tall.

gray@lemmy.ml · 13 pts · 118d

Please don't try to make imperial system look cool

ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 118d

Measure me mommy.

Toes@ani.social · 9 pts · 118d

Measure me please 🥺

MousePotatoDoesStuff@piefed.social · 9 pts · 118d (1 reply)

We need to sexualise the metric system.

Siegfried@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 117d

Nothing stops us from measuring our dicks in Gm...

Mine is 5 10^-11 GIGAmeters

nonentity@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 118d

The US fought, and apparently won, an entire war, to get out from under the heel of the boot which they insist on continuing to measure things against.

daggermoon@piefed.world · 6 pts · 119d

God, I love feet.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 119d

Meter? I hardly know 'er!

Soulg@ani.social · 3 pts · 118d (2 replies)

How many dead horses

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 118d

There’s a whole com for this stuff.

ArmoredThirteen@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 118d

A baker's dozens worth

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 118d (6 replies)

It looks like the people on top have a giant calf and foot for legs and feet. And one of them the foot is backwards.

kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 118d (1 reply)

What?

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 118d

I can’t explain my insanity.

HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 118d

I was going to say the same thing.

TerraRoot@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 118d (2 replies)

Two left feet, wonder what kinda measuring system that is.

jaybone@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 118d

The foot on the fact is a right foot though?

kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 118d

Those are definitely not two left feet. That is a left and a right foot.

SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 119d (1 reply)

False, Europeans measure in metres

wieson@feddit.org · 1 pts · 118d

Or mètre, metro, mittari, metr, Meter, måler, méadar, metroa, metritis, metar

possessedfaxmachine666@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 118d (3 replies)

length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299792458 of a second will always be superior to some stinky foot. Or an inch. Or a football field (Hand-egg one?)

EyIchFragDochNur@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 118d

1 metre = 10 decimetres = 100 centimetres = 0,001 kilometres. Not sure how you calculate but this could be the point

Flower@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 118d

You can use yard. It's 0.914 meter so close enough. If they ask how many feet and inch that is, that's an imperial problem.

wer2@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 118d

But why not 1/300000000 of a second?

5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 117d

IIRC, the meter stems from a fraction of an Earth's length, so you know what to do

Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 118d

Wait till you hear how people measure the height of horses.

Siethron@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 118d

This post made Miyazaki (Dark souls) want to move to the US.

osanna@lemmy.vg · 0 pts · 117d

no it's not. it's barely a cm.
