Hey, if they want to meet the reaper early in a head-on collision, that's on them. I'll pass the dashcam footage to their next of kin.
Besides, a failure to budget time on their part does not constitute an emergency on mine. I will treat my instance of high speed heavy operating equipment, which we all had to get trained and licensed to operate by the way, with the respect it deserves.
A head on collision happening right next top your car or close in front of you would be dangerous for you too.
Sure, I don't care about angsty morons. It's annoying but I'm not going to speed on their behalf. I like torturing them by driving however I normally would, which is at the speed limit.
I differ slightly from you guys, personally. When possible I like to stagger with the traffic in alternate lanes in such a way that we're not riding right next to each other regardless of speed, so if anyone like that comes by they can just simply go around, and if I'm going slow I'll stay in the right lane and let people pass on the left (depends on which side is "driver's" of course but ykwim).
That way nobody is dangerously riding my ass (or if they still do they have no excuse), if I need to switch lanes abruptly due to hazards I have the space, as does my other-lane counterpart that is staggered behind or in front of me in the other lane, and it just feels less cramped. Safer all around imo than intentionally pissing off someone already exhibiting irrational behavior while operating a two ton machine at high speeds near me, I'd rather just say to myself "go on ahead dumbass, hope you get pulled" than have the stress of even potentially having to deal with all the hullabaloo of an accident even if I were guaranteed no injury (but you're never guaranteed that.)
Because in many areas the roads are designed for a limit 15-20% higher than the posted limit, so it “feels safe” to go faster. Driving is largely a subconscious activity and traffic calming is an important part of safe road design.

It's amazing how many adults act like poorly raised, spoiled children.

As someone who drives an F-150 for work, why are you speeding in a residential area? That’s dangerous.

Bless their hearts, they still believe doing this will appease tailgaters.

Usually people like that will freak out and pass me illegally if I go the actual speed limit.

And that's precisely what I do too.
They can ride my bumper all they want, I'm not adding a single click of speed to the cruise control.

And safe road design is often seen as "inconvenient to drivers" so everyone from the car-brained to road crews fight it at every turn.
