Wd40 isnt a lubricant. It's a cleaner.
It works for a very short time as a lubricant.
Most people do think it's a lubricant, mostly because wd40 marketing plus it will technically lubricate in the short term. And sometimes cleaning will fix the problem.
A simple 3-in-1 oil will last. It's an actual high viscosity lubricant.
