The whole blood sacrifice thing is weird to me. Normal people just forgive others. Instead, this deity had to do everything you listed and take it to the extreme. People believe in stupid shit.
If you only think of jesus by the terms legalist define him.
In truth jesus was a liberator. He worked within judiusm to free the jews from toxic legalist practices. He attacked power and was murdered for it. His attacks were born of sold morality and acceptance. He believed in the good in people so much that he was willing to die for it.
When you submit to the legalist definition of jesus you miss him entirely.
Didn't the guys see all sins ever too be committed in that garden before he accepted death? Like, he saw you, high on meth, blowing it the fattest load from your twitching dick to horse porn, and still decided to die for our sins.
Most of Lemmy doesn't care about religion(s) I think, but being against Christianity specifically is just more common in the western world, where it's the most common cult or set of cults, and fediverse is dominantly western

If you don't sin, he died for nothing

This is the correct interpretation.

Giving Jesus sins to die for since 1998

God invented sin, then made himself human in order to kill himself to save people from himself. Makes perfect sense.

If he existed, anyway

It was either sin, cos, or tan.
I always get the Holy Trigonometry mixed up though.
hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 8 pts · 46d
I think it's tan, which makes sense since the real God is the magnetic field of earth keeping us alive
diablomnky@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 46d
No, that's the Holy Spirit. God would be the dynamo mechanism in Earth's core that produces the magnetic field.
HeHoXa@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 46d
Just remember SOHCAHTOA
Sin = opposite of holy spirit Cos = adjacent to holy spirit Tan = opposite over adjacent

What an idiot.

I don't think he's an idiot. I just think he's a voyeur and likes to watch. Came up with this whole 'Earth' thing just to satisfy his kinks.

Ask this time people thought it said "sins" and now according to the Dead Sea Scrolls Twitter account it actually said "simps!"
