I honestly thought it was a stage name.

Her sister Tighta Lipa didn't have any comments.

I thought it was a weird band name until about a year ago. When I finally really listened to a song I got hooked and I'm now a fan.

It's just a mild shame da baby is a trumper.
But the version of that song without him is infinitely better

The lyrics that get me are:
The change in tone between these lines is amazing and not something I can recall hearing often in songs.

I keep learning things about her (eg her author interviews) that make me like her better.

I try not to lionize pop stars, but as a human navigating the world of pop stardom in this modern age, she has generally taken the right stance even when it was not popular.
Especially for a ‘pop’ star, that’s commendable.
And her music slaps.

Does it? I really need to check some out. I might already know some but is there a good place to start? Just to dip my toes in the water? I've been a little bit newer to the pop-ish scene and maybe prefer things a little more in the alt/indie/bedroom style but I'm trying to Branch out. So if you got any album in particular or something that is a good place to start that would be cool

I’d say Future Nostalgia.
My library skews similar to yours and this is definitely not that and it isn’t super deep.
It’s fun music, well produced, mixed great, and made by someone whose values seem to align with mine.

Thanks for the recommendation brother. I'll have to preview it and if I find it enticing enough, perhaps I'll donate to the artist.
Edit: checked it out and didn't get to deep with much, but three plays and it has a hella vibe. Even my 19yo son was like, 'ngl, this kinda kicks'

My question is, what idiot thought that Jared and Ivanka would be great spokespeople for something like this?
chunkystyles@sopuli.xyz · 5 pts · 45d
These ghouls are used to things just working.
DagwoodIII@piefed.social · 2 pts · 45d
But that's the thing; they hardly ever work.
Look at the Iran War. Trump has reversed himself a thousand times.
Jared was supposed to clean up the Middle East.

She didn't seem inspired when people were protesting her shutting down Palermo for her wedding though 🤷

Oh, how I wish those Albanian protesters could get their hands on Kushner and Ivanka!

I respect. She is a bit like a female Bruce Springsteen. In my eyes that is a good thing.
PS: I am neither a fan of Bruce Springsteen or Dua Lipa, but I do support them as IMHO, they have their hearts in the right place.
