The report also seems not to realize that it is being written by the Trump administration.

There are a few delightful digs like this in this article.

The only thing that's golden is the tacky veneer on the White House walls in the picture.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 32d

you should see his trump tower rooms its worst.

Photonic@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 32d

Wasn’t even written by Beth Mole either lol

Naich@piefed.world · 37 pts · 32d

What? By dying?

nyan@lemmy.cafe · 27 pts · 32d (5 replies)

Trump's understanding of science is on a par with that of Flat Earth and Hollow Earth believers. It's hard to foster what you don't understand.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 32d

hollow earth is where all the kaiju come form.

uuj8za@piefed.social · 3 pts · 32d (3 replies)

That's probably what the mean... :(

Golden Age of Science (according to Republicans): Flat Earth, Lizard People, Bigfoot, Aliens

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 32d (2 replies)

pseudoscience, alternative science as well, crystals, Chronic lyme, anti-vaxx, humours,,,,,etc.

The Golden Age will begin once the Orange Era concludes.

thethrilloftime69@feddit.online · 17 pts · 32d (2 replies)

Do they even know how science works?

pHr34kY@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 32d

Science is now illegal for all except military.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 32d

Yeah. It's a guy in a white lab coat (and for them, it has to be a guy) saying whatever they want him to say.

Pregnant at 4, birth at 5 years old, 7months, 21 days. Youngest pregnancy ever confirmed.

I would like to punch somebody really hard on the face right now. I need a drink. At no point in history should that have ever happened. I feel sick.

Precocious puberty and sexual abuse. They never found out the identity of the father.

...by leaving office

Gonzako@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 32d

In China?

DarkFuture@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 32d

Soooo, he's going to use tax payer dollars to fund Christian science reading rooms across the nation?

_Nemo_@lemmy.ml · 12 pts · 32d

...by axing or redirecting (read: embezzling) funds once spent on actual science?

tidderuuf@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 32d

This coming from the same guy who was confused about what happens with magnets just a few months ago and now he tells people in order to make money you "do magnets".

A real golden shower of wisdom from that bag.

db2@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 32d

Only if the word is redefined to mean "shitting your diaper and lying about it".

villainy@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 32d (1 reply)

This is just a euphemism for alchemy isn't it. He's going to dump billions of taxpayer dollars into a quest to turn lead into gold.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 32d

No more absurd than the LLM bubble.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 32d

Miserable fucking sycophants. He's actually ushering in a dark age worse than the one that followed the burning of the Library of Alexandria.

By driving science away to places it can thrive

MyOpinion@lemmy.today · 11 pts · 32d

That Orange Pedo love’s ignorance not science.

Bwaz@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 32d

Ha, ha, ha

What, they're seriously believing Trump and "science" belong on the same page together?!?

Uh-huh

Abyssian@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 32d

They don't mean "Golden age of science" as a time when lots of awesome and important science gets done. He fired all the scientists. But he IS having the plain black ink in science printers replaced with a sparkly gold ink, so all of the bad science will look way more shiny and golden.

bagsy@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 32d (1 reply)

Can, but won't.

Also, can't.

“Can”, not “will”. A subtle but important distinction.

Defunding is not how, but he is the stupidest person to ever hold the office, so expecting him to know better is a recipe for disappointment.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 4 pts · 32d (2 replies)

he would likely die bathing in water filled with gold particles.

You mean the Trump that's responsible for the brain drain in the US because he declared war on science and scientists? The guy that hired conspiracy theorists and fox News anchors for high regime positions and a health minister who's into roadkill penisses, brain worms and swimming in feces while claiming paracetamol causes autism and vaccinations are bad?

Yeah, I bet he'll be the inventor of the Idiocracy time machine. Unless that ride requires magnets.

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 31d

Wait, this isn't the Onion?

leaky_shower_thought@feddit.nl · 3 pts · 32d

can usher in new gold in age of science?

i think they've been doing that already. and lining their pockets with it.

the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 32d

Golden like piss

echodot@feddit.uk · 3 pts · 31d

I'm sure he could, but it would be in Europe away from him and his science denying flat earth believing pals.

Pollo_Jack@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 31d

He could by getting all conservatives out of policy making positions, but he is too much of a bitch to do it.

I guess pseudoscience is a kind of a science

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 32d

it does use "sciency" stuff, but often its outdated, or misinterpretated, like invermectins effect on covid, which was treating the parasitic infection that was hampering the immune system rather than the covid itself,.

SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 29d

By golden age they mean something cheap with gold spray paint.

Blackdoomax@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 18d

New golden shower*

The golden age of "who knows what's happening"

leanleft@lemmy.ml · -1 pts · 30d

the article seems pretty partisan and populist. selectively chooses facts for discredit while omitting any admission of credibility. does not address the problems or issues with a proposed solution. lots of suspicion, unfair assumptions about motives, and irrelevantly keeps tieing back to the trump administration. the highly partisan angle seems to discredit arstechnica as an intelligent unpreferential information source for productive discussion.
