Imagine my complete lack of surprise !

I’m not a teen. But I care about teens and people in low income areas getting priced out.

because the money i've saved for a new pc would buy me a worse one than the one I have now.

On a related note, at wor k, after 5 years my laptop was deemed too old so they gave me a new one. It's a strict downgrade.

I need to go hug my PC.

The fact that this is only the FIRST quarter, is ridiculous - I am going off the assumption that PC is used as intended, a “Personal Computer” and not as a general catch-all for computing hardware (ie. including data centres)?

Not first ever quarter. Title here says it was 9 consecutive quarters of growth, but I understood it was 5 from the article (All of 2025 + Q1 2026)

It also seems to count laptops and desktops, not desktop hardware bought as individual components. Manufacturers may have had stockpiles for a while, Apple certainly managed to keep their old pricing through much of 2025 at least, if not part of 2026.

I suspect if you looked at individual PC components, the growth dropped off sooner, but I cba to look up the numbers

don't worry you can just subscribe to a PC that someone else owns for you ☺️ (he can also install and maintain it for you, and over time it'll display more ads)
