Why won't someone arrest and charge this motherfucker?
Soulphite@reddthat.com · 23 pts · 21d
Because. Everybody knows. That the world is full of stupid people. So meet me at the mission at midnight. We'll divvy up there.
Epp@lemmus.org · 12 pts · 21d
I've got the pistols, so I'll keep the pesos - yeah, that seems fair.

First, the Republicans need to lose the election.
Zephorah@discuss.online · 6 pts · 21d
He’s such a wannabe. Look at him, trying to fake Wisconsin.

That's moon cheese.

How can the usa be a democracy when their politicians are so easily purchased?
hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 21d
It never was. It’s a constitutional republic created to benefit slave-owning, white, male property owners.
The constitution should’ve been burned and rewritten multiple times already. An archaic, 250-year-old document isn’t relevant in modern times.
taj@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 20d
Exactly. More to the point, it was designed to be rewritten and modified. The founders knew it would need to be changed. The problem is, the USA has become so big, and we've made it so hard to do so.
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 20d
What parts specifically do you have issue with?
hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 20d
Well, basically the entire thing. The changes needed to truly democratize and modernize the document would require a complete rewrite.
There’s many things that need changing, but some of the basics would be to abolish the senate to eliminate disproportionate representation that led to the coup we just experienced, for one. The establishment of a true parliamentary system where representatives can be recalled at any time, second. Then, minimizing and subjugating the power of the executive and courts to parliament.
I would prefer the parliament nominate a prime minister who serves at the will of the people and can be dismissed at any time, and not have complete control over the military and bureaucracy.
Prevention and punishment for political corruption needs to be baked into the constitution to ensure politicians truly serve as servants to the public will and are forbidden from pursuing their own financial interests in office.
I could go on and on about more specific things like the right to arms, but I’d I have to write an essay.
The framers themselves intended for the document to be rewritten over time. Jefferson said the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of tyrants, or something that effect.
Cornpop@lemmy.world · -1 pts · 20d
Ok let’s start at the first amendment. What needs changing?
hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 20d
You can’t “line item” each thing. The entire document requires a convoluted and complicated process that prevents things from being rewritten easily.
That’s why the entire thing needs to be scrapped. Other countries have already done this multiple times and they’re fine.
The USA constitution is not sacred nor worth preserving. It’s archaic and needs to go. Traditionalism holds back human progress and nationalism led to fascism in this country.
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 20d
Gonna just have to flat out disagree with you then. A large majority of it is still extremely relevant to our modern society. Sure it’s not perfect, but nothing is.
hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 19d
Tell me the constitutional weaknesses and loopholes weren’t exploited to allow the oligarchs to hand power to a fascist traitor who doesn’t respect the law.
What good is a constitution if it can’t even prevent the situation we’re in now?
PattyMcB@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 21d
It's not, and that is sad
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 5 pts · 20d
It's a lot easier to buy a politician than a voter.
zbyte64@awful.systems · 2 pts · 19d
We have a saying: "vote with your dollars"
lemmygarden@lemmy.today · 28 pts · 21d
I don't understand why people are allowed to give money to politicians that aren't in their district. Like only donate to politicians that are running in the district that you're registered to vote in.
REDACTED@infosec.pub · 24 pts · 21d
Didn't he offer money directly to voters at some point?
AmyAye@nord.pub · 9 pts · 21d
Yeah, there was a contest for like a million dollars that you entered by registering to vote in certain states.
PattyMcB@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 21d
And now Wisconsin is going after him for election bribery. I hope something actually comes of it, but i don't have high hopes.

Ftfy
9point6@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 21d
Oh because the system was already pretty corrupt and they've recently doubled down on that
zwerg@feddit.org · 14 pts · 21d
That would take a 100 years to earn if you earn 1 millon a year - and pay no tax.. I doubt many here are on that kind of money. Scarier still, this is most likely less than his passive income this year from his investments.
AmyAye@nord.pub · 11 pts · 21d
If you work from age 20 to 70, 50 years, earning $50,000/year every year, and spent none of it, on taxes, on housing, on food, on TV, on fun things. You would make 2.5 million dollars in your lifetime.
Abolish Billionaires+.
tidderuuf@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 21d
Must be nice to have $100 million you can just sneeze away.
some_designer_dude@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 21d
“Nicer” to be able to do whatever you want to anyone you want without a single actual consequence. The life of an American billionaire. True freedom.
(Can someone please 86 this mofo already?)
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 10 pts · 20d
I love when they spend enormous amounts of money, and lose anyway.
TheFermentalist@reddthat.com · 7 pts · 21d
Vote for people that musky boy doesn’t support. It’s a drop in the ocean for the cunt, but make sure that the money is wasted and that he fucking knows it
Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 20d
Good luck with that. Many more people are paying attention now and see whats happening in this country. For example Aipac and other outside groups flushed 60 million down the toilet to support primary loser Haley Steven's in Michigan. Elon is more of a global pariah now than he was during the last election.
CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 20d
Remember: this is the jackass that claims the Overton Window moved to the left, LOL. To demonstrate this "fact", he used a cartoon. And that's why he had to be a fascist.
Typical DARVO bullshit.

Democracy can’t survive with these people alive

Man that must be a sad way to live.

Arrest this loser.
