Apparently loads of those datacenters are announcements just to prop shareholder value up.

It takes at least 5-6 Years to make a power source for a datacenter this size (cooling isn't quick either), if you go with the simplest (coal/gas), or so I have understood.

I'm of course not an expert so feel free to chime in!

Unfortunately the signs are clear, not just wrt this one: MAGA is doing everything in its power to fuck the planet over for good, and make 'murican companies (at least those they have "an understanding" with) bigger and richer.
