Trans women getting pregnant is actually something that already happens lol. It involves a bunch of immunosuppressants and a uterus transplant that has to be taken out again after the pregnancy
Yeah, that's the sketch of how we think it might work, but there are many hurdles before we even have something to try. It's certainly never been done.
I mean, even for cis women it's basically a brand new procedure with little data, for something that's not considered life-saving. It would be highly unethical to try one with current methods, but there's nothing outright "impossible" about it.
Trans women getting pregnant can happen, because there are intersex people who id as trans women who are born with a uterus and could give birth.
But there are no cases yet of a perisex trans woman born with a penis and testes getting reassignment and a uterus transplant and giving birth. It may be possible in the near future, but not with current medical techniques.
They keep talking about how fake it looks as if pictures of celebrities, especially ones at special events, aren't modified to hell before being published, and that is after they spent hours with professional make up artists, wardrobe/designers, etc. to make themselves look as photoshop perfect as physically possible before they even get the photoshop treatment
Second, I'm two years younger than her, and I already couldn't imagine having another newborn at this age. Woof. Good luck to her.
Ok. So to the matter of this article. The Princess Diaries came out in 2001. They're suggesting that gender-affirming care was already common enough and good enough that an unknown actress could access it in the late 1990s and have it pass undetected?!
Honestly I think that's harder to believe than anything I've read today.
Also, why would any prominent supposedly trans actress, having successfully passed as cis for 25 years of extreme scrutiny, choose to draw attention to her gender expression now? At an age when it would be somewhat unusual to be pregnant? In the midst of maybe the least-accepting environment for trans rights in history?

Not going to read the article. I'm just going to say that we live in the dumbest timeline.

They're saying that her baby bump looks fake and thus she must not be a cis woman at all.
These weirdos are lost in their own hateful reality 🤦🏻

They gonna lose it when the first trans woman gets pregnant in the future.

Yeah. I'm frankly surprised that they apparently aren't flipping out about trans men getting pregnant and still retaining their gender identities..
garbagebagel@lemmy.world · 38 pts · 19d
That's way beyond their level of comprehension tbh. These same people just don't seem to even realize that trans men exist.

A bunch of incels are calling Anne Hathaway a transwoman because they can't masturbate to cis porn anymore and they don't understand why.

In the 90s, they would call it "gay" as a sign of dismissal or something is bullshit.
"Oh they polluted the river? That's gay."
Is that the new "trans"?
"I got a $80 parking ticket. That's so trans."

So, ok, wait.
First of all, she looks great.
Second, I'm two years younger than her, and I already couldn't imagine having another newborn at this age. Woof. Good luck to her.

This is (at least) her third pregnancy. She probably didn't expect this nonsense on the third go round.

Sure, but that doesn't make it significantly more reasonable.

Made me curious so I looked up her age on Wikipedia.
Turns out I'm 48 days younger than her and look about two decades older 😄

It's arguably intersex. Bearing a male child permanently changes a person's endocrine system.
