Is Wheel of Time worth a watch? What do I need to be into to like it? I love Foundation.

If you like low standards fantasy it's fine. It's probably worth reading up a bit on the episodes to get an idea of the world. They dropped the show which is why I wouldn't bother watching it again. Like Carnivale, which is a great show but it's missing three seasons. Firefly the episodes were at least somewhat standalone, but WoT is trying to tell a story and it only tells a bit of it.

Think Xena, Hercules, Legend of The Seeker.

No it is not. The cast, particularly Rosamund Pike really put their back into their roles. Unfortunately the writing was a total mess. Also the production was all over the place. Some of it looked great and some of it looked like dogshit.

Thing is, it is a tough book series to adapt..

It's mid.

Nice production value though. but totally forgetable.

a lot like the lotr series on amazon, you won't remember anything other from it than it's pretty.

It’s bad. I wanted to like it, and tried a bunch of different times to get into it, but I just couldn’t. The characters were superficial and forgettable, and the performances were inconsistent and unremarkable.

I recently rewatched Foundation, which I loved, and sadly there’s no comparison. Wheel of Time feels like a badly written B movie compared to Foundation.

If you want something with a fantasy vibe playing in the background while you do something else, go for it. Otherwise, meh.

It's a pretty horrible GoT/LOTR knockoff.

It was ok. They changed a lot from the books, so don't go in to it expecting a perfect match and you'll enjoy it more.

Except they cancelled it, so don't bother.

Being into the books is probably necessary. I heard the show sucked.

Being into the books makes you dislike the show... Not reading the books makes the show meh... Show gets cancelled for having no fanbase.

That does tend to be how it is. Always see the movie/TV show first, that way you can be extra delighted when you read the book instead of being delighted by the book and then disappointed by the film.

The show was godawful. I lasted maybe two episodes. It made Chapterhouse Dune: Prophecy look like Citizen Kane.

Edited because I'd blocked out the name of that steaming hunk of trash.
