The people of the United States can choose to refresh their memory of the scourges eliminated by vaccination through education and healthcare, or through the death and suffering of those that they love.
I still vividly remember a conversation between my grandmother (retired nurse) and mother (then an administrator in nursing), when my mother first came across some anti-vaxxers who were younger nurses.
My grandmother thought it was about the stupidest thing she ever heard when it came to health care. She rarely swore, but she had some choice words....
Nah, I'm not even willing to say "I hope you suffer from the inability to treat your dead kid like trash".
I just don't care about them at all. If they drown in their sorrow and off themselves that's just the way it is.
My ability to care is pretty much all used up on people who didn't do it to themselves at the moment.
Darwin awards are for people that remove themselves from the gene pool before they procreate. The parents already reproduced and the kids that die have no control over the matter so Darwin awards don't apply in either case.
I mean, technically the parents are removing themselves from the gene pool. I haven't heard the stipulation that it's "before procreating". I think getting your kids killed by an easily preventable disease is macabre, but technically counts.
Right. Man, this thread just reminded me of the old days (for me) hanging around on the Darwin Awards forums when they first opened up a decade or two back.
There have been endless arguments about what should qualify or exclude someone from consideration for an award. The existence of existing children doesn't exclude one from getting an award because death by stupidity still prevents you from having any more children. But getting your own kids killed due to your own stupidity does though. The children didn't cause their own deaths (or sterilization), and that is one major key to winning an award, self selection.
If anyone cares, there are actual rules at the forum that have been getting hashed out since this all started in usenet groups in the mid eighties.
The general rule for a DA is that you have to cause your own death or sterilization in a spectacularly stupid and hilarious fashion. Getting kids killed, while spectacularly stupid, is never hilarious and still leaves the idiot parents free to continue breeding.
The future monument to all the dead vaccine deniers should be "We Sure Showed Them!". I pity the children who are forced into this danger by stupid parents. Maybe it's Darwinism, I don't know.

Eventually, the choice will be made for them.

Oh, they've already repeatedly chosen against education and healthcare.

And medical research. There are no new drugs or treatments coming in a few years.

Vaccination down in the face of an epidemic, and new parents are refusing vitamin K shots in babies so brain bleeding and permanent brain damage.
USA is fucked. You spend so much time and effort making abortion illegal but then you kill the kids later, either by disease or gunshot.

I hate the idea of dead kids, dying from preventable diseases that their parents elected not to prevent.
I hate those parents more. May their children dead from preventable diseases inflict the worst kind of mental torment imaginable for them.

These people can rationalize anything, including the death of their own children. That's how they got to this point in the first place.

Those parents that lost a child said they had no regrets.
I mean, what the actual fuck.

You're right that it doesn't have to happen before they have reproduced but it must be a self inflicted injury that prevents future reproduction.

It turned into a political thing when it shouldn't have.
