It’s true. He did. Only a few bars later he even predicted covid:

“No contact. And if you interact. Your life is on contract.”

altkey@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 35 pts · 19d

And right in the next line they predicted the deterioration of the US as a travel destination.

"Your best bet is to stay away, motherfucker".

Things are so dire LB lyrics started to make sense.

How dare you give Fred Durst credit for anything

content_educator_94@thelemmy.club · 58 pts · 19d (3 replies)

Fred Durst is is unfairly hated on for essentially no real reason, he's a national treasure.

Love you, Freddy D.

(He has gone out of his way in various contexts to set up bands and independent film makers with the necessarily resources and connections to make their art, say what you will about the guy's behavior at times but he seems to genuinely want to help other creatives have a space to be given a chance to shine.)

(Yes I realize I'm low key stanning Fred Durst here)

Yeah, well, maybe, but there’s no forgiving him for LINKIN PARK

content_educator_94@thelemmy.club · 14 pts · 19d (1 reply)

Yes, clearly he should have kept making music with Black Sabbath and The Rolling Stones

(I forgot to keep it silly, my bad dude)

eurodyne@piefed.world · -2 pts · 19d

Sorry, I forgot the entire realm of other possibility no longer existed

I think the biggest mistake is taking limp bizkit seriously, they don't even take themselves seriously

My generation

eurodyne@piefed.world · -6 pts · 19d (1 reply)

Well, I can’t argue with you because I’ve known better than to ever have listened to any of their lyrics, but I maintain my stance that I don’t like them just based on having to have heard them from douchebags blasting their music from the cars passing by over the years

Geobloke@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 18d

My bad for that one, keep in rolling baby, you know what time it is

I saw Limp Bizkit and Cypress Hill at a free show around 2000. Everyone, EVERYONE was there for Cypress Hill. When LB played they were booed thoroughly. At one point, for some reason, Durst decided to crowd surf. He returned to the stage with no shoes and no hat, cursed at the crowd, and stormed offstage. After a few minutes of confusion “Hits From The Bong” started, Cypress Hill took the stage and started hitting an 8 foot bong, while performing. Order was restored.

ruplicant@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 19d (8 replies)

of course! as I once heard him say (paraphrasing) "we picked up where RATM left" xD

binarytobis@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 19d (6 replies)

I liked RATM for a while before I really noticed what their music was about. Insane to me in retrospect, as there’s nothing subtle about their message.

cdf12345@lemmy.zip · 16 pts · 19d (1 reply)

And then you liked them even more?

binarytobis@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 19d

Of course!

Forester@pawb.social · 5 pts · 19d

Mr. Senator what are you doing on Lemmy?

Passerby6497@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 18d (2 replies)

I was really worried that this was going to end with "I don't like them because they got political" and I'm glad it didn't.

I wish I could say that it was just a meme, but I've literally had conversations where I have had to ask some brainless chud what machine he thought they were raging against, or what forces they thought might have been the ones burning crosses.

Deep state, duh.

Ah, yes, the Derp State, the right's favorite villain next to anyone not a WASP

It was right there, people.

😄 Big Dumb Face

Dozzi92@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 18d

I love Wes, but I don't think any music he made outside of LB was good. Blacklight Burns, maybe. Big Dumb Face was an art pieces for sure.
