I like to think I did my 20s right, if that means anything. Partied often, built my career, worked on my established, longstanding friendships. I lived a bit wildly, but I also think that I gradually wound those things down. I have been in my career since I was 20, but in my mid-20s, my friends would show up to my jobs at night, I'd change out of my suit in the bathroom, and we'd all take a train into Manhattan, on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It's something I couldn't even consider. Our nights started at 1030, 11. Now, that's essentially when they end for me.
I'm now in as late as your 30s get, have kids, and that lifestyle is a very distant past, which I'm happy about. I have friends who still like to live it, and that's cool. I'll hang out with them, but I also have no problem tapping out early, and they also don't care that I do. We're all past the point of "uno mas," which is funny because it's been the name of our group chat for the past 15 years, and it's okay. I had fun, it's no longer what I want to do for fun, and that's cool with me and everyone.
It's nice to all grow to a point where peer pressure has seemed to finally met it's demise, although I do always say peer pressure is a great motivator of youth, and I wouldn't change my youth for a second, because my present is great.
So that wood wall is not wood, it's like 1/8th" veneer. So of all the things, I'm okay with that going. Granted, don't paint it, rip it out, apply new walls where necessary, and then paint those.
That being said, we moved in 1997 to a house with the wood paneling, and as we were ripping it down, there were a million large holes everywhere, so we put it back up and painted it. White.
Yeah, painting the old wood and painting the brick is just too much. My home is pushing 100 and I have big old molding everywhere, but I've seen other houses in my neighborhood where folks have painted the big old molding - white obviously, because that's apparently the only "color" - and to me it just begs to be burnt to the ground.
People actually paint bricks, and it disturbs me. Bricks are so porous, and so unpainting them is an ordeal to say the least. I never understood painting brick. Brick looks nice. They made them look nice right from the brickyard.
I mean, you raise a point, but good luck doing anything and trying to stay off the radar of national security. They've got 25 years of experience spying on American citizens under the guise of stopping terrorism. If I go out and try to form a militia right now, I'm not voting in the next election.
I think familiarizing ourselves with decentralized methods of communication is an important step to take right now. Hopefully not necessary.
I mean, he's allowed to spend money. The illegal part was offering money to vote Republican.
As to why no arrest, because this county's a sham. These midterms are so incredibly important, and it's kinda like, will they be tampered with, will they not be, wait and see! America loves drama and reality TV, and now we're all on the show.
Yeah, everything is counting down. They start with left sock, right sock, go from there. You have 60+ guys, they'd finish head calls in "100 seconds," and I put them in quote because it's a guy screaming backwards from 100 as fast as he can. And so the point is, yes, removing psychological blocks to certain behaviors, getting you to move fast all the time, and obey orders immediately. It's pretty effective.
When I was in boot camp for the Marine corps the rule was three to a urinal. And when we went out to the rifle range for a week or whatever, the toilets were just in a room, six toilets, not a wall in sight, in just a room. I was fortunately not piss shy, but they definitely force it out of you if you are. Fortunately, by the time we were at the range, privacy had stopped being a concern.
This was 2009 when boot camp was still segregated men and women.
I feel like I'm going crazy that you're responding to someone saying Europe is the greatest donor, and their proof is a publication showing the US donating more than twice Europe.
Keep fighting the good fight, I guess. America Bad is just so hot right now.
Yeah, my grandmother was born in Italy in the 30s and probably never had processed sugar in her life. She got dementia. She also lived with dementia for 15 years, severe for the last 10, which is crazy. Fortunately, she never seemed, while I was around, scared or anything, just very quiet, like she was lost in her own thoughts, which I guess she was.
This seems so out of place with Casey's normal material. My wife was a big, big fan for a long time, everything seemed murdery to an outsider like me. The first one she showed me ended up being one guy one hammer, and lemme tell you, it was almost cathartic to know that that video I had watched a decade prior at least ended with them being caught.
Yeah, I definitely intend to crack a few open, take off work, that kind of thing.
And then I'm going to put his name in the past and let it stay there.
Peal means concede? I think peal only refers to a sound, I've never heard it used to mean concede. I may have misinterpreted what you meant though.
Can't refute what you said because you didn't say anything.

Nice one! America Bad! Clever, edgy, sexy!
Peal is a loud ringing sound.
Otherwise, I agree.

NJ Pizza > NY Pizza. I'll die on that hill.
Oh for sure, they just made it legal 25 years ago.

England.
I put off DCC for a bit. Finally took the plunge. Do the audiobook.
I'm reading The Heroes, which is in the First Law Universe. I like them, very dark.
