IIRC, Kirk means Church in the North Germanic languages. I'm not sure how the various OE varieties spelled it. I'm not sure what they would make of that.
I would assume that using kirk as a slang verb would mean to "send someone to church" which is where they would have their funeral.
In the additional image in OP, it's used in reference to the assassination where he got shot, and the kid is using it to mean someone got sniped in the video game.

I once heard a story of whoever ruled the Netherlands suddenly deciding everyone should have a last name (and the deadline was extremely sudden), so you have a lot of nonsensical names from that region.
Carlson, Erikson (Xson), Slettenhar (slut's hair), Naaktgeboren (born naked) .etc .etc where a head of the household just brainstormed a literal shit post last name for their family (a lot of the vulgar ones were made in protest iirc)
I'm betting a certain engineer and legendary Scotsman's longstanding and dear kinship with a prolific one of those certainly helps that adage ring true.
Ol' Charlie got kirked like only a Kirk could, though many of us were hoping he was korked, at least. All in all, said korken was to no one's dismay —least of all Mrs. Kirk. ☝🏼

Go basically anywhere in Scotland and you can find a Kirk of some kind
