Did you bother reading their last email? I only use as per my last email if it's clear the person replying didn't read it or is obstinately ignoring it because they don't like what I had to say.
I was signing out of work when I got a meeting invite to "Demo new features and discuss any requests/demands for final implementation" tomorrow so pray for me the subtext is about to become the text.
...every single time I've run into that wording, it's in response to a question that their initial email doesn't address. You've never run into that?
Usually it's when I have multiple questions lumped into one email, they answer the first one and ignore everything else, then get butthurt when I ask for a follow up. They can "I already fuckin told you" all day long, but they didn't actually already tell me.
I've since learned to keep work emails at like a 3rd grade reading level. Couple sentences max, one question per. If I have lots of questions, they'll be slowly trickling into your inbox spread out over a week or so. And if they start getting snarky, I start CCing their and my supervisor.
Welcome to any and every industry that uses email.
There's an even better trick too: skip the fucking email and just go knock on their office. Gets shit done 10x faster.
Respond to my email in a stupid way, the next ones will be stupid proof. Whether or not we're friends is up to you in this case, but if I need to treat you like a kid to get the information I need, you better believe I'm gonna.
Spot on!
Their first email was likely also full of pointless passive aggressive bullshit.
That's almost certainly why I didn't read it first time around.
They can email my boss instead if they want, he gets paid extra to get shat on by dickheads.

I mean, if you call me out for dropping the ball, but my last email contained the info you asked for…

Im creative enough not to use "As per my last email" as the subject. Socially engineer your way into that baiting anyone you want.

Default answer to colleagues if I'm shit talking with them and they ask a random question.
Short answer, no.
Longer answer, noooooooo.

...but like when did they send the last email?
I'm surrounded by people who couldn't give less of a fuck and it makes my job 100x harder. If they would just at least read their goddamn emails..

Rules > New Rule > Title/Body contains: "as per my previous email" > Permanently delete.
Life's too short for that petty bullshit.

Maybe read the email they sent you in the first place and they won't have to send the "I already fuckin told you" version?

That's no way to get into management.

I do not run into that. Every question etc. gets a number. If I fail to see the answer in their mail, that makes it easy to (not) find it.
If you hit me with a ton of questions constantly trickling in instead of just all at once, I will not be your friend.
Murse@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 5d
That only works if you get a numbered response.
