Yes, dolly will be missed. It's not my kind of music, but she was a great human being.
She never bragged about it, but she gives away 3 million books per month for free. 332 million books so far over multiple countries. The Dollywood Foundation offers scholarships to encouraging educational advancement.
just to name a few. Safe to say she helped quite a few to progress in life.

She also used the money gained from Whitney's version of her song to open offices and create jobs in specifically low income, black communities, saying they were "Whitney's people, and my people " Dolly was born poor enough that the doctor who delivered her was paid with a sack of grain.
I am very much so an eat the rich type of person, but fuck, losing Dolly is hard. Saw someone yesterday bitching about the imagination library, saying that giving books to kids was a waste of resources and took from libraries or some shit. People will find any excuse to bitch and moan, I guess, but Dolly was damn near a saint, and was genuinely an excellent role model

What helped me over the years in similar situations was makeing a mental boundary set at 70 years old. Everything and anything that happens to a human being older than 70 is basically a potential death sentence. Between this and an empiracal understanding of how much more difficult everything in life starts getting after the age of 70 means most people at that point are ready to take a break from life. Worked as a CNA for years and all ill say is that it is torture when the body out lives them mind and having rhe body fail before the mind is almost unanimously accepted as a gift of relief. You dont want to be the person in a wheel chair sitting in a nursing home hallway for 15 years surviving off 4 boost nutritional shakes everyday with weeks and months passing between randoms spurts of lucidity.

The only thing that has given me comfort since my mom passed is that she's no longer in pain. She was only 64, but she had been disabled since birth, and in the last 10 years was in a power chair, and the last year and a half in a bed. Still, she wanted to live. Full of life does not even begin to convey it enough. She was life. Lit up every single room she was in, and with a few exceptions (mainly her shitty siblings), there was virtually none who did not love her. All of my friends growing up said how much they wished they lived with us, and many did, because mama took in strays. My sister in law was devastated, and had said many times how much she wished Mama had been the one to raise her. But she was in pain. Constant, awful, debilitating pain, that very few besides me were ever allowed to see, because I was her caregiver. Even my brother doesn't know the extent of it, or my father.
It is a very, very cold comfort, but it does provide some comfort to know that the person least deserving of pain is no longer experiencing it .

It's nice to read about a rich and successful person who was not only talented, but appeared to be genuinely nice, and care enough about other people, but smart enough to know where her donations would make the greatest positive influence.

"Ms" is not short for "miss". "Ms" does not specify whether or not a woman has ever married. "Miss" is for women who have never married.

It hit me hard too, she was a lovely human being who made the world better for having been in it
I have total respect for her, how she grew up in abject poverty, harnessed her talents, didn't let people in the music industry take away her ownership of her songs (ahem, Elvis Presley), and when she had money she invested it in communities and people
She seemed to have a great sense of humour, could take the piss out of herself and had a massive heart
And Jolene is easily one of the best songs ever written
The world is better for her being in it and diminished by her passing (and when she was ill she offered herself to have cancer treatments tested on her) she was a class act and total mensch
And Tim Curry...another top person, he brightened up every film he was in, no matter how shit
