You're absolutely correct. This comment contains multiple examples of implementation critiques, which weren't easy to spot. I'm reformulating my response in light of this new information.
Sounds like a problem for ai companies to solve unless your concern is their success or larger economical impacts. Not a real critique of the technology itself.
We have access to it, so we can see that it's shit. Yes.
If we didn't have access to it, and didn't know anything about it, then we couldn't have a fair opinion on its quality. And, yes, by definition it would be seen as luxurious.
