Well, exactly the problem. It's not just any hands, but child hands.
When I dig through my memory, my hands could've often been classified as biohazard. Genuinely.
We had a separate toilet room with no sink. I've used to spend a lot of time closed there. I've also played with wet toilet paper, modeling it into shapes.
Remember, no sink. So, how did I get it wet? Yeah, just like that. And I didn't necessarily flush before.
Sometimes I even used turds wrapped in a layer of toilet paper. It was warm and squishy.
But you see, the key to the trick is that size has nothing to do with it, nor does weight. It's all about relative densities. The orange is almost entirely water, with just enough other stuff in it to make it sink. Even a bowling ball will float in water if it weighs less than 12 lbs.
That was my first strategy. Then, after watching a few attempts, I adjusted that strategy to "set up a new cup and I'll do it" because that water would have been nasty as soon as the first kid dipped their hands.
The cup is filled to the same level when she sticks her finger in, as it was at the start of the video. Also, the water gets refilled throughout the video.
The difference is the comment section here has some coherency to it, isn't sorted to drive engagement, and the platform encourages discussion rather than trying to simultaneously make you interested in this thing but also the next thing so you don't spend too much time talking about this thing instead of seeing ads.
And no one is trying to use the comment box as a search engine or to message their granddaughter.
I also don't expect to see many comments on the race of the kids here.
Maybe the community will eventually go to shit here, too, but the difference between the various social media sites isn't just the content, it's the way the site is run and the kind of people it attracts and keeps.
Yeah but I'd still argue it wasn't the content that caused that, other than having content attracted more people and there could be some critical mass (though I think it's about when the medium attracts a more mainstream audience that includes people who don't like to think more than they absolutely need to).

There are clubs in Los Angeles where children's dirty bathwater cocktails sell for $50.00 a glass.

But you're not the one having to drink the water

Well i guess this would then surely fail under lab (rats) conditions. :(

Or maybe just as bad, it's had like 12 school kids' hands dunked in it before you get a chance at this strategy.

I would've never suspected that stirring water would make something that size rise up.

I feel like a drop would have spilled had she gone first. Part of this challenge is to let others fail so that you can succeed in the aftermath

Yeh, it's clear there is a suitably similar amount of water in the glass each time, even when there is water in the dish below

Applicable knowledge.
Hupf@feddit.org · 16 pts · 2d
Step 1: put the plate on the glass as a lid
Step 2: hold the two together firmly, quickly turn them upside down
Step 3: trivial, the next person can easily figure it out from here.
skoell13@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 2d
Love that trick. You can even do it with a sheet of paper (if there's not too much water in the glass), put it onto a table, and pull the paper out.
nexguy@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 3d
Pour some water into the dish then get the mandarin. No water spilled.

Seems like Lemmy is doomed to go down the same path as every other social media.
