The only way to make a terrible & rich/powerful person have regrets is to hurt their coin-purse & reputation.
Only then will they use the only currency they can't purchase, which is "sorry".
If he really wants to apologize, he could cancel the tour & volunteer at a Palestinian hospital for a year. That would definitely make a difference.

I get where Ed Sheeran is coming from… but not where he ended up.
I can see not wanting to get involved in politics and wanting to appeal to people on both sides of issues.
However, when one side just wants to live in peace and the other side wants all of them killed for having dark skin and praying differently, that becomes a huge problem. Not bring opposed to that is a huge problem.
Part of the issue is, the people (Israel) doing this, had this done to them 80 years ago. That’s why they exist there to do it now. The US didn’t want them. The EU didn’t want them. So they hoisted them upon the Middle East and said “not our problem”. Now, Israel is quick to point out that anyone who opposes the genocide they’re doing supports the one done to them in the past. And most reasonable people agree that is a very, very bad thing. But they don’t all agree that the same emphasis should be placed on the current genocide. P!nk says it’s justified. Boy George says it’s just war and both sides are equally complicit. Apple doesn’t want people talking about it all, and they’ve flagged the word ‘genocide’ as profanity in their software, and you can only type it one letter at a time. You can’t trace type it like you can unflagged words. (On an iPhone or iPad. A Mac won’t deter you.)
Unfortunately, it’s down to either supporting genocide or not. And if you want to be inclusive, you have to be against genocide. That’s how bad genocide is. Anything short of opposition is consent.

You caught my attention with the apple censoring the word genocide thing, so I’m typing this mainly to test it. On iOS 26.6.1 using the English (Canada) keyboard and locale, I can swipe to type “genocide” normally. Do you have a source on the censorship claim?
(Not trying to derail or take away from the rest of your post, I’m just very curious about this part)

Just personal experience. It lets you do it, it doesn't let me do it. What kind of source do you want, like a screen recording?
Could also be context. iOS's keyboard absolutely censors the word "yourself" if the previous word is "kill". You can trace type "yourself" in many other contexts, and you can trace type "kill" in some (not all), but if that was your last word, "yourself" will have to be tapped out, one letter at a time. There are a few examples of it censoring things like that. (And good reasons, sure, but if you're not bullying someone and maybe you're in Writer or a text editor writing a story, it's kinda weird.)

Yeah, a lot of people talk about how bad the keyboard is, but I don't see a lot of examples. When people do give examples — or at least this has been my experience — it's often replied to with "well it works on my end". I think we can all agree the iOS keyboard is shit. And I think anyone who uses both iPhone and Android (Gboard) recognises that the Android keyboards don't go as hard on the censorship/autocorrect as iOS does. The iOS keyboard takes the same "the user is an idiot" philosophy the OS itself tends to take. Yeah, I'm a techie who uses an iPhone, I wouldn't call myself dumb (though I can list a lot of smart things I don't know, like programming, and networking, and many sciences)... but I like iPhone because it's dumb and simple. I recommend it to people who want their phone to be easy, which is a big plus if you work in tech. My Android phone is confusing to people. I do weird shit with it. I use a launcher that doesn't resemble other launchers. You swipe down for the app drawer and up for widgets (I could reverse this but that is how it acts by default). It's got a weird name, and it's kinda inspired by iOS/macOS Spotlight. Can't be arsed to remember the name right now and the phone is off.

I mean, I assume they have a contract which would prevent them from doing that? Maybe? Honestly I couldn't care less about Ed one way or the other, but I keep seeing all this hate towards them as a person (almost as if they personally stopped the show and demanded Macklemore get off the stage as soon as they said Free Palestine) when it was almost certainly a business decision made by whoever bankrolled the tour. Robert Kraft I think? Either way, I encourage everyone to direct their hate towards the stupid and oppressive system, rather than whichever bumbling idiot was unlucky enough to be its pawn this week
