on a variety of topics, any opinions which do not conform are heavily downvoted.
This is is also a problem on Reddit too, I guess it's to do with how the entire concept of subreddits or "sublemmies" while I like it for things like memes & fandoms, it makes everybody able to create a closed-off echochamber shut off from every other allowing opinions to become unified at an extreme.
I think I went to Reddit at first because of what it was, I watched a lot of Reddit "reading" videos for a while so decided to join myself, but the Reddit I wanted to join was already gone by the time I actually did join, then it got worse until I didn't want to take it anymore, the AI got added, then the Games, that was the final straw I think.
This might be a bit of a hot take but I do visit Bluesky more than Lemmy, there's more activity there & it's less of an echo chamber, Bluesky still is a bit of an echo chamber I guess but not as much Lemmy can be, also some of the niches I like aren't on Lemmy. I do hope Lemmy gets more users & Activity, it'd be a bit more comfortable to use.
Shoved down their throats makes it sound like a personal attack when it's just people existing in certain places, and yes, it is bigoted to want to be free of Islam in the United States, like, hear yourself, you want an entire belief structure eliminated from your country.
So it's basically just another instance of Youtube/Google going to extreme lengths and trying way to hard to stop alternative clients rather than just tackling the reasons why people use alternative clients, like ads & privacy?
I'm probably being too lenient but if I can still watch videos on Freetube I'm not gonna abandon it, especially not for the official client, I'm pretty sure most issues are caused by Youtube shenanigans that affect all the alternative clients, FOSS Devs have always worked around those shenanigans before, and if Youtube does succeed in breaking all alternative clients & viewing methods forever then I won't watch Youtube videos anymore, yeah it'll suck but I'd much rather do that than go back to using an official Google product.
The more companies gloat about how much they care about your privacy & how important it is to them while selling every piece of user data they can dig up the more it means absolutely nothing.
That's a stupid price, one of the main things of brick/flip phones is their low price, HMD feature phones range from about £20 to £70, some new google pixels can go for about this price, so getting something with the price of a smartphone with a fraction of the features sounds scummy.
I know the appeal (I think) but I worry that these things can be very harmful after a while, like how with the constant internet access provides constant distraction from anything important in one's life (like studying, working, etc).
Happy Cake Day I guess, I didn't know Lemmy had this feature.
I get it's obvious but it's still cool that the borders are still sorta the same.
Frutiger Aero for it's tranquility
Liminal Space for it's eeriness but also sometimes it's oddly comforting nature
Coastal Style for the nostalgia and tranquility

Spacecore because space is colourful & pretty
Neo Tokyo because I like pretty neon cities

I don't all about aesthetics and it's hard to pick just five so it's extremely possible I'll find a new one I like more.
My favourite Corporations are the ones that don't exist

Yes, the normalisation of women wearing veils is messed up, I was talking about the "free of Islam in America" bit.

What even is SABR, I, at first thought it was something the Freetube devs added to make playback more stable, but I sure I was very wrong now.
DuckDuckGo's No AI version, but I haven't really tried anything else, maybe that's a show of it's quality?

So do they make the larva of other things as well? /j
I think they sponsored a right-wing French Youtuber, but they publicly apologised and said they didn't know his political alignment.
Bibata Original Ice at day & Bibata Original Classic at Night
Librewolf is what I always use.
