The first time they are saying something believable:

we have tremendous criminal and regulatory power over these companies.

They do wield criminal power frequently, in the pursuit of their own gain

It was one peak moment during a time of low usage at night with simultaneous strong winds. Assuming this is about the July 2015 moment (which CleanTechnica seems to be hiding --- or even completely ignorant of).

So yes those 40% surplus were automatically exported (the European power market is integrated), but no that didn't move the needle on consumer prices.

CleanTechnica is doing shoddy reporting.

They talk about Denmark hitting 140% peak production "last Friday" in an article from 2026-09-09, so presumably that would mean 2026-09-04. Then they link an 11 year old Guardian article from 2015-07-10.

The rest of the article is also barely about Denmark at all, it is just bait.

I just read about the Houthis taking Mayyun Island.

So I came back to say you were right, and I underestimated how much the Houthis can achieve.

Even though the blockade of Iran is ongoing and moving materiel must be difficult, they still managed to take this new costal area and the island, I am impressed.

In German there is this one poem made of contradictions:

Dunkel war's, der Mond schien helle,
als ein Auto blizeschnelle
langsam um die runde Ecke bog.
Drinnen sassen stehend Leute,
schweigend ins Gespräch vertieft

And I foget the rest....

I'm also annoyed by this sort of bait. My local newspaper was even worse, they just reported that the Brent price reached 100 USD, without information on how much it rose, or any historical comparison. So goddamn annoying.

For everyone's reference here's what the one year price history looks like (Beware: chart floor not fixed at Y=0):

This is the price of the front-month Brent crude futures on the Intercontinental Exchange, which is apparently what people mean when they talk about the price of Oil.

I'd say yes. If it's regular rare it's interesting for the younglings, if its extra rare it's interesting even for the experienced.
